Do 8 and 10 have same skins or..?

Hello! I'm a new customer although I have a fond experience with WindowBlinds. I today installed Desktop Object onto my laptop and then installed WB 8. According to the compatibility list in Object Desktop, both WB 8 and 10 would work in 8.1, but since I have Windows 8.1 I decided to go with WB 8 because by namesake that made more sense. A quick download and install later and everything turns to black. Only the mouse cursor is visible. Nothing happens for several minutes.
