Your screen cap did not show at first, but the description was enough to change the default app, thanks. Then the image was visible after making this post, weird. Here is a screen cap of 2 tabs in my taskbar: https://i.postimg.cc/G3qHqKxd/task.jpg The one wit a bit of yellow is the one active, I wish to use a more visible color, maybe a solid background instead of the dotted one. Here is how what I t

Well, it's not that: editing these rectangular shapes does not changes the way an active tab on the taskbar is displayed. Also, is there a way to make SkinStudio use IrFanView rather than Paint by default?
I'm getting close: in "Theme Parts Details" -> "Buttons" -> "TaskBar" -> "Taskbar Buttons" -> "Buttons" -> "Activated" -> "Additional Layer 1" -> Edit I see 3 rectangular shapes. The 2 on the right show a grid of small rectangular dots that are in the color I want to change.
Hi, I am using a customized Precision style with a modified WinRetro style for the taskbar. When a TAB is active, its color background changes, but I find it to drab and hard to notice with some apps icons. How can I change this color?
Yes, I tried, and it worked, but I don't want to! However, even though I did reboot after upgrading to WB11, another reboot made it suddenly work. I really don't know why, but so far so good. Thanks.
Hi, I have been using WindowBlinds 10 for a long time with: https://www.zabkat.com/ for a long time (years) without any problem. But, suddenly, the information displayed on the bottom (free space on the drive, etc...) is no longer visible. I upgraded to WindowBlinds 11 (latest), still no joy. What's weird is that my main machine is partially copied as a Virtual one to allow for testing without disruption, and on the VM with the same settings, al
Here is a global look. I don't show the menu on purpose:
I want also W7 Windows classic look. Using a modified Precision 7 with the Winretro (also slightly modified) taskbar is perfect. Winretro alone looks too hash for my taste but its taskbar is the best. In particular, I spent a lot of time to find how get back the contrast in the file explorer between the fields "name", "size", etc... which were grey on W7 while they are the same white as the data below with a separation line barely one pixel wide took me a lot of time. I'd like to be a
Neil is 100% right. I waited a long as I could to jump from W7 to W10. M$ had to correct many problems to make it usable, I had to do a lot of work to understand skinning to modify 2 skins to get something likeable, and it's only because new hardware and 10G networking did not work with W7 that I jumped to W10. W7 was better in all aspects, I can't find a single thing I like better on W10. It will be a least 3 years before I jump to W11, and only if I really need it. U
It took 3 years for W10 to become usable, and that's only with third apps like WindowsBlind, 7 + 7 Taskbar and DI Awareness. Leaving W7 behind become an obligation, not really because the lack of patching .Use third party browsers (like Warefox and firewalls like TiyWall), and you're 99% protected. A little good sense, and security is 99,9%. No, it's because stuff deliberately does not work with W7, like 10G Internet access. Now I have have 6200/670 on Speedtest app on W10, an
Is there a vaccine against W11? W10 was already such a disease... There should call it Windows delta. :)
Because M$ is determined to make impossible to modify their awful GUI. They are full of themselves, making a GUI completely lacking in contrast between various elements making it very hard to read, unless you have 30/20 vision. At 66, it's not my case! The Insider site says "we listened to you to make Windows better", but all they did it was to make it easier for their support. Also, they had the brilliant idea to make a new scaling system system to work better with ta
Microsoft not release iso. You must install Windows 10 and join to Indisers and then Windows Update will download Windows 11 from Beta channel or Dev channel. I do not recommend downloading iso from pirated pages.
Sorry, I misunderstood you. I am part of the Insider program, I though that your were speaking about a beta channel for Windows Blind!
Would you have a link when you download beta releases? Thanks!
I need to: - Have a custom taskbar, used from a given style, like "Win Retro" - Be able to control background in the description fields (name, date, etc..) in the file explorer . On W7, you can see these fields, which are darker, really clearly. On W10 and W11, they use the same background as the data, so they are very hard to see. I was able, using the Skin editor, to modify this background to have back W7 ease to use.
It started to work, having the good taskbar at boot. But the windows did not display their caption! I un-installed and res-install WB, activating it again, it did not help, still no captions on the top border of the windows. I have an automatic system image created every night by Macrium Reflect, so I restored yesterday system: same thing!!! I installed a new software installed today that was not in the backup that made the system the reboot, this time everything was n
Noted, thanks. I use ESET, and I had already had to add it to its HIPS rules Windows blinds to make it work at all. I added it to the deep behavioral exclusion, although I did not get any popup that it was messing with the registry. If I look at the registry after making the mod, the good value is set to 1, so WB was allowed to modify it. Why it reverts to 0 after a reboot is really weird.
My little trick to change the registry worked at the first reboot, but at the same time the taskbar was below the screen (cropped) until I clicked with the mouse to restart the process. This is a problem I have sometimes, so not related. WB started with the correct taskbar, but a few of the startup programs did not start. I rebooted, and this time the trick did not work, I did not get my modified taskbar, but every startup program started. So, this is
I found out that this sets this registry value: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\WindowBlinds\WB5.ini\WBLiteFX] "OverrideXP"="1" After a reboot, it goes back to "0" I used the following process: Run gpedit.msc. Go to computer Configuration -> Windows Setting -> Scripts(Startup/shutdown) Go to Startup properties then you will get the new windows.
Duplicate - sorry.
Yes, thanks, it's what I did. But the setting does not stick. It's goes back to same as style after a reboot.
I use a modified version of Precision (Windows 7 substyle) with the taskbar being a modified version of downloaded Win Retro with WB 10.84 on Windows 10 pro 1909. Each time I reboot, Settings are back to use the taskbar of the current style. What can I do to make it stick? Where is this setting saved? A file, a registry entry? Thanks.
No it can't be change in curtains.
That puts an end to my investigation of curtains. It's obviously much less powerful than Windows Blinds (probably why there are no compatibility problems), but it cannot satisfy my needs and make Windows 10 look good, so I'll give up on it. Thank you for avoiding me to waste my time with an inferior product.
Hello, Sorry to hear you are having issues. Will try to answer some of your questions. From what I understand is that Curtains works for you without much issues except for you there are several application that can not run with Curtains? I send 2 mails to your support, that when unanswered. I hoping to get some answers here. I have an Object Desktop license: but uses mainly WindowsBlind. I'm currently testing Curtains, because WB has incompatibilities problems with several programs. Nothing really blocking, but annoying. I'm hoping to get the same look with curtains, without the problems. I got the look I w
