As a newbie to Fences I treat this as a major functional omission. It could easily put me off buying the product.

Me too. Has anything happened as a result of all this? I have started trialling AB, and have run across a similar situation very quickly. I am using Input Director as my KVM (having tried several others and found them very similar. My main reason for choosing ID is that it is very simple to see the current arrangement of master and slave via the icon colours in the tray). WAIT! Funny old game, computing. Just went through the passcode scenario again - changed them both to, say, myABpw, fiddled about a bit, including un-muting one of my machines, and POW! It's working... (Kaspersky re-activated). THANK YOU
My machines 'talk to each other' - my single mouse and keyboard support both PCs. And I can achieve my objective - sounds from source being heard on destination - using Google Chrome SoundIt. But I would prefer to use AB because I think it would be easier to control if I master it. MORE The Passcodes are puzzling me. I've got Kapersky on both machines, and Defender says 'Kaspersky's looking after all this". So I disabled all protection on both machines, and the was no change. The meters in Sounds on my destination machine are dead flat, so I wonder how AB finds the signals, or whether they are not getting in?
Wow! Thanks for replying so quickly. I've installed AB on both PCs (Win7). I've filled in the properties of the 'source' and 'destination' machines. I play music on the source but have no reaction on the destination. It seems like there's a missing step?
