Many thanks for that - unfortunately disabling that had no effect for me. Most annoying!

I have this same issue following a fresh Win10 install last week. After much troubleshooting I found Start10 to be the culprit, which led me here. I have uninstalled it using the purge utility, but the issue remains on a fresh install - when the start button is clicked the menu appears as normal. When the Windows button is pressed it flashes up then closes in a fraction of a second. More problematic is this is causing issues with application focus
