Game performance is not affected. You're not drawing per-pixel window borders and effects when you are gaming, so why would it affect performance? Why would 20 be a waste? You will be able to use Windowblinds with Vista when it comes out. Get Windowblinds, it's worth it, I say that wholeheartedly.

Can't justify $15 dollars??? That is next to nothing for a much better looking GUI interface with powerful per-pixel effects. Just support Windowblinds 5.0, you won't regret it.

Just wanted to voice my thanks to Stardock for Windowblinds 5.0!! I had pretty much stopped using Windowblinds 4.x for about a year or more, and then heard about the excitement of Windowblinds 5.0, and decided to go for it, $15 bucks ain't nothin', and whoa, it's like a whole new product. It doesn't have that clunky feel that made me stop using 4.x. It's super fast, the new per-pixel feature rocks, and seems to have more app compatibility than ever

I wish Stardock would keep moving forward with DesktopX and make it into something worth purchasing rather than posting articles trying to defend their product based on a review from another site. Just my 2 cents. Konfabulator is a bit better, and free.

Must be correct then, seeing as Frogboy is a completely unbiased source. My question is this though: why does Stardock keep writing stuff about memory usage. Okay so it only uses 600k of RAM. I could care less about how much RAM it uses and a whole lot more about how it affects overall system performance.

Bloated can be more than just hogging memory. Bloating can be something such as a noticeable slowdown in overall system performance with certain programs enabled. Overall performance can be hampered by having too many things going on a time. DesktopX with a large number of widgets, WindowBlinds, CursorXP, and WindowFX all on at the same time IS going to slow down your system, it's pretty much a fact. But if you only use your pc as a toy to skin, th

popularity of skinning and companies like Stardock I don't think a company like Stardock is going to change how Microsoft designs their user interfaces. Anyway the majority of WindowBlinds skins are horrible, so I would be dissappointed if Microsoft started basing major product GUI design decisions o

"Never install bloatware. (ie Java, .NET fx.........)" I would hardly call Java and .NET bloatware. For people such as myself in the computer software field, these come in quite handy when developing and testing programs, not to mention end users of the programs will need these to run the end product.

Why does it take literally FOREVER for me to get sent the new link for Windowblinds when a new version comes out. I have sent a request for the new version about 10 times since yesterday and have also emailed support about it and still have recieved nothing. This is very annoying. I have only purchased WindowBlinds so I don't have access to this super duper Stardock Central thing that everyone else seems to have. Is there anything else I can do to

Even Flash takes up quite a bit of CPU. A Flash logon makes sense but a Flash desktop background I can't see as being useful.

Do you realize how many resources anv AVI desktop wallpaper would take up. That's right kids, your computer would slow to a crawl. So yes, this is an awesome idea, if you want to do nothing on your pc except watch your animated wallpaper. For the rest us, we actually need to do something useful with our pcs.
