I changed setting to "private" for both with no success, Does computers has to be in same network?

Hey everyone, I am trying to set this up, When I try to ad the second PC dialog box appears and says: Failed to connect: Please check firewall settings on secondary (should not set to public/guess) computer name and IP address. I switch the main and secondary PC around received same error code again. Send email to stardock 2 days ago with no respond so far. <p
