Noted! So a few things pop out (1) Indeed, Virtual Desktop sync is something we are looking at! The undocumented Windows API is unstable around this so we're having to tread carefully, and likewise there are other complexities, but it's something we're looking at for the next "Major vNext" update. That said, I'm curious about this script you've put together with AutoHotKey, as there is no API functionality of sorts to switch pages today. So, I want to make sure I ask the question

[ResetFrom] Icon monitor origin changed (.lnk) [\\.\DISPLAY3, 3840x0->1920x0] Very interesting! So yes, one minute after workstation lock, the screen goes to sleep (at least for a second), then 15 seconds later a WM_DISPLAYCHANGE notifies of a display settings change. But, according to the display enumeration, everything is still the same – \\.\DISPLAY1, \\.\DISPLAY2, \\.\DISPLAY3, and the overall virtual screen size etc. Yet – those icons somehow then report

Hi Chongzhou thanks for the report. Wondering if you might be able to submit your settings so we might take a look. If we’re unable to reproduce, we may add a few lines of debug output and see if we can capture more information. To submit a report, go to the About dialog and use Troubleshooting → Create error package. Thanks for your help

Definitely seeing something in these logs, and this is definitely strange. Thanks again for sending the logs Looks like the system is switching to a configuration of 640x480, and things are going haywire then. Will have to work to recreate on our side. Hope to get to the bottom of this

Hi Aylwyn, this is some serious visual carnage! Thank you for the video upload. I'm a little confused, so, some questions to help clear this up if you could. You're stating that you're a long time customer, however you're only citing that only now have a whole bunch of visual issues have cropped up (per your video), while also stating that it occurs on both new and old versions (v6.40 and v6.20). From the sound of it, this is a "rebuilt system from scratch" as well as you

Hi Ken, thanks for sharing this and for the video detail. This looks quite strange and have not heard of this. I'm wondering if you have other system enhancements installed that could be conflicting? We'd like to gather more data, if you would be able to help put together a report. (1) Please install the beta version below (2) Enable "Advanced Debug Logging". You can find this in "About" -> "Troubleshooting". (3) Reboot, so the change has effect (4) Reproduce

Update @asanidar, new beta build is ready at https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/3yesbjb58xmwy8yyn4i4f/Fences6_6.4.0.1-j108-Setup.exe?rlkey=ufu1yu5i85elo27ucioia3od8&st=j1d2qmlp&dl=1, and includes the latest debug logging. Please give it an install and it'll track considerably more info about icon moves, which will hopefully h

Hi Pelaird, Thanks for this report — indeed that scrollbar should not be showing. We fixed this in the version just released to beta, v6.40. Thanks again for the report and let us know if you can confirm fixed 🙌

While this shouldn't be an issue and we're not able to reproduce, for functional's sake, I'll mention the spacing on this desktop is non-standard. The icons seem to be jammed up against one another. I recommend using About -> Troubleshooting -> Fix icon spacing to reset to Windows defaults. After doing this, I'm guessing this will no longer occur. If it does, please use the

Hi asanidar, We've added additional logging to an upcoming build that might help with this further. In the meantime, keep "Advanced logging" on from "Troubleshooting" in the About pane, and send a report if you see a problem. Thanks for the help

Hi sakodockadmin, good news! With the help of your debug data, I think we've been able to resolve this. Let us get together an installer and we'll get you a link for testing and verification. Thank you for your help and patience

Ok. Good to know. The advanced logging should hopefully capture some additional insight on at least "when" this shift occurs so we can help narrow it down. With that in hand, we should be able to add some additional logging around where it's occurring to help further narrow down. So, submit error log via "Troubleshooting → Create Error Package" whenever you do see it reoccur and we'll proceed. Thanks again

Hi sakodockadmin just an update, Looks like we've identified a shortcoming of the "swap monitors" data transformation that is likely causing this. We're looking in to it and hope to have something for you to test soon. Thank you!

Hi just to clarify — so do you need to change the wallpaper to fix the issue, or does just hitting F5 on desktop to refresh etc resolve? I ask as we’ve seen issues such as with Parallels where it will change the wallpaper to black, but in a way that doesn’t change right away. Likewise it sounds like the mouse both causes and relieves the issue but unclear. Thank you

Hi asanidar thanks for going into all this detail. It might take us a moment but we’d like to dig into this. We might need to figure out what kind of debug output we might want to put in to help track this down. No hypothesis yet from the team on what could be causing this so still working to figure out how to proceed. Sounds pretty infrequent, but one th

Right. Yes I think the concept might be, either an option to switch to single-click to toggle or an option to add a toggle icon up & down. Tbd on that. But, in good news, we did add ability to turn this off manually. In the upcoming-soon release: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Fences\Settings "NoRescueGroupsFromUnderOtherGroups" = (DWORD) 1 For reference again, if the option were "Single Click toggles Roll Up / Down", that would be acceptable to ha

Agreed! Good stuff Team has long had the question of whether this has more utility than a close button (experimented with things like this). Thanks for bringing it back to the forefront. We'll have to reconsider this for future versions. Rollup is a pretty prominently used feature from what we understand. Alternatively of course, X'ing does make it easy for users to configure, which is critical as well, so, tradeoffs. We're pretty sensitive to adding visual load. One o

Hi johnangevine, correct, as basj shares this is how it works today. Like with Windows itself, all desktops have the same icons. We've considered evaluating a feature wherein you could link virtual desktops to different "pages", such as that if you change which "page" you're viewing while on a given desktop, it would remember that. Otherwise, there's not much of a way to move icons or groups from virtual desktop to virtual desktop, if each virtual desktop were to be a complete bl
