There are issues with speed and random freezes for a small but significant number of users on 64 bit Windows 10. This has been admitted by Stardock support. I was told to rename both dock64 files in the Object Dock folder to get around this issue while a solution was worked on. It does indeed speed things up but at the expense of seeing thumbnail previews. With regard to the blank spaces in thumbnail previews, I've just learnt to have to live with this issue. It's ext
Try and rename both dock64 file extensions in Objectdock folder to dock64backup eg so they can't be used. Check if there's any improvement. You're right in that there is an issue with 64 builds for some people.
The lags do happen, and I've already been through support. The only way I got a definite improvement was a clean reinstall of windows 10. This gave a massive improvement from the problems I'd been having. With that said, Objectdock DOES have issues with Windows 10. Lag does remain intermittently, also, if using Windows Explorer to preview your open folders, among the thumbnails generated of these, you'll get a blank thumbnail. Think this may have to do with some Windows ap
So as suggested, I took out a ticket on Thursday. Now nearly Tuesday and still haven't received anything back from support regarding my issue raised in this very thread. Is this company (& its products) on the decline or something?
Never once posted on these forums but since upgrading to Windows 10, been having a lot of issues. A clean install of Windows 10 seems to resolve quite a few of them. However, I am still getting a lot of hanging and reduced performance from OD. Have reinstalled video drivers but doesn't seem to make a difference. No doubt this needs an update to quash any compatibility bugs and to optimise performance in Windows 10. Too many people are experiencing issues for it to be isolated conf
The ONLY way I managed to fix this was with a dreaded complete reinstall of Windows 10. I had previously upgraded my version of Windows so must be some incompatibility glitch. Mind you, still having the file explorer thumbnail preview problem so comes across like ObjectDock hasn't been exhaustively tested with Windows 10 with a large test group. Hoping the team look into this a bit more.
Spoke too soon, problem came back. So basically Objectdock is picking something up in the background. I've done a clean install of Windows 10 and found it makes no difference, same problem. I'm amazed this hasn't been picked up in testing with Windows 10. Hopefully we'll get a fix.
Actually blank thumbnail preview has disappeared though not sure what caused it. Noneheless, thumbnail previews are still cutting around the edge of the screen. Can post an image if someone can tell me how to insert a screenshot? Only see option to insert one with an url...
More issues for me with Windows 10. So I have the Windows explorer folder on the dock, hovering over this gives you a preview of all open folders. Two issues here: 1. Currently, there is a black thumbnail included amongst the open folder thumbnail previews. Present even if I have just one folder open. 2. A
Not a deal-breaker at all but it does come across like something isn't working right! Folders open alright. Likely a Microsoft bug but hope it gets fixed soon!
For me, all apps launch fine with Objectdock on Windows 10. However, there is a bug when you try to launch a folder. The folder initially opens up for a second and then disappears, only to then reappear a second later. Doesn't happen for folders that are already open on the desktop. Nexus Dock also has a similar issue. Maybe something needs to be updated to be compatible with Windows 10. Folders launched from Windows taskbar don't have this problem.
