I love the general idea, especially the first suggestion, however I don't think the second idea could be as easily implemented to compliment the combat, and strategic layer of the melee. Not to mention that I would find it difficult to convince the Devs about implementing a feature into the game that goes against most of the mechanics that we would likely see. A far more likely, and in my humble opinion, more entertaining feature would be a Sandbox mode, where the player could carefully r

I imagined it to be a centipede to be honest, plus, the constant sound of a hundred feet beating against the floor would sound kinda menacing.
I agree, but I would like to be able to upgrade my fleet escorts as I would the Vindicator, as some ships would fall out of favor with newer designs, it would be nice if even the older models of ships have a (albeit small) niche. Customizing escorts would also go a long way to strengthening the RPG element of the game, and creating a bond not only between you and your ship, but also your entire fleet.
For me, picking out a singular experience that I loved the most in Star Control II, because it is such a vast and vibrant world, and to me picking out one point is selling short the entire all-encompassing experience. However, if I was to pick a single moment that stands out the most, or had the biggest impact, it would be the Kohr-Ah genocide sweep. When I first saw them moving my instinct was "Oh, that cannot be good", then the Ur-Quan cries of terror solidified that fact. I flew to the Yeh
Wait a moment, are the opening up new copies for the founders program? As I said waaaay back, I got in but the copies ran out before I could scrape together enough to afford the "Lifetime" Founder Edition, if they are opening up new positions I would love to still participate in the program, my love for this project has still not diminished! Edit: Irony is, I still have the Founders Program Acceptance Letter pinned to my email, just in the case that more copies would be
So there is no way that I could possibly get a copy? Or even get to view the vault?
(This is a re-post of my Future Star Control Games post because I couldn't find the SC sub-category like a fool, but here it is anyways) "Sorry, Star Control Lifetime Founder's Edition (ESD-SDE-W086) is sold out." Well, this community has been dead for the last few months as a result of little-no new information. If it makes you feel any better I haven't gotten a response to my questions on the Founder's Program, it is not an exclusive issue to just you.
" Sorry, Star Control Lifetime Founder's Edition (ESD-SDE-W086) is sold out." So here is the context: A while ago I applied for the Star Control Founder's Program, I was ecstatic to learn that I had made it into the program, but was quickly taken back by how much it would cost, essentially $100 for the Lifetime Edition . Undeterred I decided that I would save up my money to buy it, and
So I got the Founder's Program acceptance email but I currently don't have the money to afford it, I am keeping the email flagged until I can purchase the lifetime edition but I am wondering if there is an expiration date on these? Thanks in advance!
I still want that Founders Lifetime Edition tho [e digicons][/e]
I got an invite as well! Woo-hoo! I cannot wait to try out the Alpha! I now just need to scrape together enough money to buy the Lifetime Edition :p
Shouldn't Rainbow planet finder be your number 2? That was easily one of the most exciting moments of the game!
Actually, I just remembered the most fun ship to fly, the Orz. This is mostly due to its *special sauce* cannon and its *frumple* Marines
It's not Starflight. Just like you can call any RPG game "a D&D game", all these types of games are "SFB games", it's just that Star Fleet Battles never got the credit for all the games in inspired like D&D did. All of these types of games owe their original heritage to SFB. http://www.starfleetgames.com/
That is deba
Thank you so much for your continued updates, I am sure it helps a lot of people. One last (well, maybe not last...) question: Do you have any idea when the second batch of Founder's Program emails will be sent out? Even a vague "In a bout a week or two" would help greatly [e digicons]|-)[/e]
I know you said five, but dang it I'm going to do ten! (in no particular order) 1. Star Control II/The Ur-Quan Masters - 1993 2. X-COM: UFO Defense (especially with OpenXcom mods on top of it!) - 1994 3. X-COM: Apocalypse - 1997 4. Civilization V - 2011? 5. Zork I - 1983 6. Wargame: European Escalation - 2013 7. Undertale - 2015 8. Space Engineers - 2013 9. Arma III - 2013 10. X-COM: Enemy Within w/ Lo

Great to hear, my question is: is there any cut-off date for applications? It would be nice to know for some people, unless of course there is no planned cut-off.
I think this is a great idea with great potential but should be used in moderation. For example, you shouldn't have to mine some Tzo Crystals in order to build a cargo pod, otherwise it would make game progression EXTREMELY slow, I think this should only be used on top-tier equipment, like Fusion/Hellborne cannons, high-efficiency fuel tanks and other modules that are not necessary to have, but are almost certainly something you would be looking for. This would give mor
Hello all, my name is Josh, I am a 15 year old high-school student at Raisbeck Aviation High School (and I'm mighty proud of that) currently residing in Seattle, Washington of the United States of America. Now I know what you're probably asking "Josh, how can a 15 year old be into Star Control II???" Well, that is an interesting story, but the long-short of it is basically I grew up with a computer from the '90s and while my friends were playing their mainstream Call of Duty's
Are they still accepting new applications? I sent one out earlier but it is not up to the quality that I would normally deem...acceptable (that and I did it on a machine that was not optimal for typing)
I have several favorite moments, but one of the ones that sticks out in my mind the most (not necessarily my favorite moment, but the most shocking) was when the Kohr-Ah came through Yehat and Pkunk space and killed my two favorite races in the game, after that I attempted to search their planets in vain trying to find any signs of life. I remember that after that I returned to SOL to make my final stand, with my ship and my crew versus the entire Kohr-Ah fleet, we took many of those sickly b
