Good to hear that the final release will have improvements on optimization of performance. I know that the graphics card is the main factor in game performance, but I have ran games with much more graphics processing just fine.

Is there a possibility that the final game will run a little smoother than the beta? Towards the end of the game, when lots of ships are present, I am experiencing a lot of lag. I have a 2.0Ghz Centrino with 1.25GBs of RAM. That shouldn't be happening.
Wow...thanks for letting us know of the trailer. I sure hope that's not going to be the one used for the intro of the game. It seems kinda corny to me. I doubt it will as it doesn't really introduce much of a story. Seems to serve more as an advertisement.
OMG...that's ridiculous! I always thought that that was a really neat feature of GC1. No time? How diifficult is it to make an interface. It's only graphics. That's probably the easiest thing to do in the development of the game. I'm already bummed about no MP, now this?! :*(
Wow...great ideas. I hope the dev team takes it into consideration. I'd love to see those ideas implemented on an update, and not have to wait for an expansion.
I forgot to mention how much fun a LAN party would be playing GalCiv II. It doesn't have to be total strangers who you play with; and even if it is, trust me it is a lot more intense than any AI. I mean, all the things you guys have brought up, such as asking a race to remove ships near your planet and whatnot; all that could be accomplished via a simple chat.
Wow, how can anyone here say that they wouldn't use the multiplayer feature if it was available. How naive are you guys? Let's face it, multiplayer gaming adds a whole new perspective to the game. Clan battles could take a whole new meaning. The development of clans and tournaments alone would be a direct by-product of it. Like oneeyedwilly said, it adds longetivity to the game. Look at the most widely played games out there: World of Warcraft, Counter-Strike, Civ4 even; all have multipla
Lol...so you can destroy colony ships while in orbit? How?
Just a brief question. Say you put 100M colonists aboard a colony ship and then you find no open planets and decide to destroy your colony ship to save money. Do you lose the 100M aboard the ship? Or are they put back to where they boarded from?
That raises a good point. Why are we forced to colonize a planet upon takeover? What if you don't want it, but you want to remove your enemy from it? Is there a way to "abandon" it so that your taxes and approval won't suffer from a low-rating planet?

Well, C&C Tiberian Sun did a great job in this department. Each unit, down to the single infantry, would move up in rank according to how many kills they had. With each rank increase, more attack points and hit points were attained. I know that technically you can research upgrades and come across anomalities and whatnot in GalCiv, but it would be neat to have names already assigned to ships; naming them yourself is not the same. Especially because
Sorry for jumping this wagon late, but that is a nice design. I can't wait for the game to be released and a section on this site be dedicated to user ship designs. That would be a neat thing to have.
True...devs should look after that. They should increase the cost for espionage and they should also allow AI to spy on us. Is there any effects on relations when you use espionage? There should be some risk to it. Like getting caught.
It's nice...I would just like a little more control, that's all. It would be neat to allow you to control what ships attack what and so on. But like I always say, "better to have the option."
I really don't see a point to those cinematic battles. Sure, they're fun to watch. But when you're at war and taking on multiple battles, they can get quite annoying. I like the traditional GC1 style of battles better to be honest. Am I missing something? Can you manipulate the ships using the Cinematic mode? Can you assign what ship should attack what? Or is it purely for visuals?
Ewww...why would you want it? I hate cloaking in any game in it. It would require a lot of tweaking in the balance of the game.
I do agree that it should remain as is. But the placing warships next to it and handing them over to those at war with them should be considered an exploit. I mean, I think the races at war should automatically attach each other's starbases without having to "guide" them to it. Why not just adding the option to ask an ally or other races to Attack a starbase like you can ask your ally to attack a planet? That would seem legit.
Nope...don't see RANDOM as any of my options for any of the settings. Is it just me? I see occasional, but not random, which I assume is not the same thing.
Oh nice...I've been waiting for that. Thanks man...
Just wondering why there's no 'random' option for the game difficulty, planets available, anomalies etc. I like being surprised...
Well, I have played a couple of games on the 0.76[b].003 version and I have come across some bugs and have thought of some suggestions that I feel would improve the gameplay. BUGS: - Intro dialog is not scrolling. - Planet "details" window exibits loud and weird sound. - Earth picture on the main interface, where is shows the PQ, is distorted. - Planet structure build queue list is not scrolling. <br
I am having trouble with the Set Rally Point feature. Once I open it once, every time I click on Earth, the dialog keeps poping up. Really annoying... Other than that, the game is amazing. I can finally get a feel of what the game will look and play like. You guys have surpasses my expectations...again.
Citizen, so what did u set ur resolution to? I would love to try it out also.
I don't care what anybody says. GalCiv2 would sell a heck lot more if multiplayer was included. That is simply a fact! Welcome to the future...get with the program. Why play the computer when you can play your friend across the world?!
