What's so special with this game compared to Skyrim, Torchlight II and others where you run around in a big world?
For me it's because the game is more or less a new Ultima game. I played Utlima 2 back in 1982 and 4,5,6 as they were released, 7, 8, 9, and UO years after release. At the time they were the best rpg I had ever played. I am hoping to recapture that feeling with this game. That said Skyrim
I played 1 game in direct X 9 (no issues at max settings). Had to change a few things to get direct X 11 to run... strange, but did that. Let me know if you can't launch in direct X 11 and I can help. Played again in direct X 11 at max settings. No slowdown.
What did you change to get DX 11/10 to run? DX 11/10 crashes on me within the first few minutes of starting the game. DX 9 runs flawless for me. I have everything set to max except no AA. I am running two 4870 in c
I think it should be in the game, at least for multiplayer. If it's added for single player too, then give the option to turn it off.
I just hope the fix is released before this weekend (4 day weekend for me [e digicons]:D[/e] ) I'm trying to play on the cloth map, but it studders even though I get around 40 to 50 FPS. This is the only game I have this bad of performance, I fired up BFBC 2 just to see if my computer is messing up, no issues, got solid 60 FPS during heavy action with 2xAA on.
It's also not just late game. My FPS go into the toilet as soon as I build a town with just the main building. Whats odd is I loaded the game on my 6 year old laptop and get just about the same FPS as my new computer when viewing a town.
My post from the low performance thread. During lunch I installed the new ATI drivers CAT 10.8, there was no change in performance. I'll mess with it some more after work. I have the same issue. I've tried all the video settings they seem to make no change at all in the FPS. Zoomed in my small city averages 15 FPS, zoomed out right before it turns into the cloth map I average 5 to 8 FPS, this is with only two small cities in view, no units on the map. This is with crossf

I have the same issue. I've tried all the video settings they seem to make no change at all in the FPS. Zoomed in my small city averages 15 FPS, zoomed out right before it turns into the cloth map I average 5 to 8 FPS, this is with only two small cities in view, no units on the map. This is with crossfire running, turning crossfire off made no change in FPS. I don't know if this is a driver issue (CAT 10.7) or game issue. The latest game update didn't help performance. My laptop
This reminds me of the Age of Wonders question "how do I got off my boat?" and if I remember right that question was #1 in some of the FAQ for that game. [e digicons]:D[/e] I'm looking forward to todays patch, hopefully it clears up the building on resources. If not we need a FAQ now. [e digicons]:D[/e]
