I was playing the DA campaign mission "Achilles' Heel" and the dread lords were slowly winning. I was finally down to my last planet and then the dread lord sent 1 transport, it failed to conquer. Then another transport. Again it couldn't do it, then nothing more. Just saw tons of DL ships flying around the map and after like 200 turns the game crashed. I was playing at beginner level BTW (still learning the game) Ah well...

I have this very frustrating problem, where out of the blue the game slows to a crawl. Scrolling, watching the ships move during a turn, it is a joke how choppy it gets. I'm almost positive it has noting to do with my computer not being able to run the game smoothly because this choppiness problem seems to hit randomly. The game is running fine then wham the choppiness starts. I might add that a lot of times the choppiness will hit on one area of the map only. And this is with
Hello, I was just curious about what kind of copy protection GalCiv2 will come with. I heard somewhere that it will use a "dial home" system where your personal data will be sent to Star Dock for verification. Don't know if I'm so crazy about that but if it is the type of CP Galciv2 will be using could someone explain to me how exactly it would work? If you uninstall the game would you have to go through the same process again when you install again? In my opinio
Dumb question but when you build a shipyard it says that it adds hitpoints to your ship. But when I build my ships at a shipyard and check the HPs it shows the exact same number of HPs as a ship buitlt at a non-shipyard base. Am I missing something? If the added hit points are hidden how can I tell them apart if I need the improved shipyard-built ships for an emergency?
1) Come to think of it, yes, I think I did have some trade routes going right before I declared war and had them cut off. I'll have to go back and experiment again. Would losing a lot of trade routes at once throw you into the red for a while? 2) I could of sworn that I didn't see a random event notice preceeding the new, giant, class size planet. Could the computer have snuck in a lot of transports? Does that increase the size of a planet quickly? I'm new to the game so I don't have a
New player and I had a couple of questions. Okay this one happens to me a lot. My game will be going along okay, but then all of a sudden I will start to lose a gigantic bunch of bc's (credits) each turn. (like 500-1000) And no matter how much I move the spend rate slider (government expenditures) nothing happens. My net income remains unchanged. Then a few turns later all of a sudden the spend rate slider again starts having an affect on my income when I adjust it and I will no longer
OK thanks a lot for the info. Kind of odd that up until a few moments ago, on the dregin.net sub menu just to the right of that little star icon, it listed galciv 1.01 installed with no other version available. And just moments ago it changed to list 1.01a available to install. Which was why I had tried to DL the windowed 1.01a version earlier instead of the regular 1.01a version if that makes any sense. So now I'm going to try to DL the regular 1.01a version instead of the win
First time poster here. Oh the price I have to pay for no-cd checks! Don't get me wrong I love the fact that no cd is needed to play, but this register only in order to update could be implemented in a little less confusing way. At least I find it very confusing and dififcult to have to go through all these steps to register just to DL a patch for a game I paid 40 bucks for. But anyway could someone help me? I finally was able to register at Stardock central (I have my serial n
