AI never finished me off

I was playing the DA campaign mission "Achilles' Heel" and the dread lords were slowly winning. I was finally down to my last planet and then the dread lord sent 1 transport, it failed to conquer. Then another transport. Again it couldn't do it, then nothing more. Just saw tons of DL ships flying around the map and after like 200 turns the game crashed.

I was playing at beginner level BTW (still learning the game)

Ah well...

OK one thing I was doing was I wasn't building any ships in my starport anymore. (What was the point the dread lords would just come back to my planet and blast anything I built) I just waiting for the inevitable. I went back to an autosave and started building again and once I had built a ship the Dread Lords finally started coming after my planet with transports and finally finished me off. I guess the fact that I wasn't building anything on my last planet might have had something to do with the ai never finshing me off.

Odd that...
