(For W10 menus) If you just want the items on top of your app list, you can just turn off "Show recently added apps" (second from the top in the image above), and then edit the filenames in %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ so that they will appear at the top. Adding a "#" to the beginning of the filename should do it. It isn't pretty but Start11 doesn't seem to have the functionality to reorder the app list.

No, sorry, the trash items were messing with me. Doing it from the shortcut seems to work without adding it to the app list, and I don't have to keep the shortcut (it seems). Now I'll just find a way to uninstall and delete all the settings and start over, using that workaround. Or maybe I can just edit "%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\".

You can add HDDs to Start11 (Windows 10-style), but it's a bit messy. Right-click an HDD in File Explorer and there is no option to add it to Start11. (I'm using the full context menu.) You can pin it to the regular Start and then it will Show up in Start11 and it will be fully functional. But, it will also be added to the app list in Start11. If you remove the HDD from vanilla Start then it disappears from the Start11 grid, but it remains in the app list, from
