Cul the weak is good on slaves and nearly dead units, but it's crap else. Healing is totally underpowered, ..agreed that most spells are u-p, and then some OP (shrink, blindness...). Overall balance is pretty poor...

Having 4 weak troops instead of 3 won't change much ! A solution could be to have only 1 hero per stack rather...
I got this with Elemental betas, it was an issue with AA on ATI cards/old drivers. If this can help !
Nanako I fail to understand your logic Why would wearing or wielding anything make you faster ? I take a dagger and pweh I'm faster ?? Same for dodging, you won't get a bonus for wearing somethnig, but for not wearing much. Regarding bonuses vs penalties, the only difference is whether you consider that base values are "best ones, naked" or "average ones, given normal equipment". It doesn"t make the game more or less balanced, it's just a refe
BONUSES would be better + init when unarmed (cause you get +3 with a dagger, you should have +5 without!) + init and dodge when lightly encumbered ( - init and dodge when heavily encumbered (80%+)
From my experience, in "Fast" games production is pretty faster. Just try !

+5 def, or even +10,+15, is not that powerful..Overall Defense is not powerful, Dodge is better. Against a 30 Attack, if you've 20 def, the attack is x 30/50, that is 60%, so 9-18 damage. With 30 def, that gives x 30/60= 50%, 7-15 damage. So attack damage is reduced by 2-3 hp only with these +10def!
The FE Spell book is nice, but incomplete (mana upkeep costs are lacking), and non-sortable. A spellbook in Excel (or OpenOffice..) format would be quite helpful, maybe some modder or betatester has one to upload ?
The manual is pretty (totally) vague about it, how do interact att/def to give the damage "dice"? And how exactly works Dodge in melee - does Accuracy matter ?

Also, with the previous build I had some spell weirdness : -Storm and Flame wave did zilch damage -And once a group of Darklings shamans kept casting "Coal stones" and slaughtered my group in a couple rounds !
