I believe that at some point, someone (team?)in the Windows dev. team decided that Aero was a bit bloaty, and a bit dated. Look at all the current array of mobile os versions (from all the major players). They spent years developing beautiful transparencies, overlays, and transitions just to flatten it all into a world of ugliness. They claim it is in the name of speed, and these things do typically require a smidge of extra processing power, but I have been running transpar

Since I am not a windowblinds dev, I cannot give you more specific information than this, but if you want to know the why we have to wait: with Windows 8, MS dropped support for system wide skinning. They also overhauled the code the drew the windows. In Windows 10, they overhauled it again and changed the way windows are drawn (primarily in windows explorer, but there are changes system wide). Again, they still have no support for custom window frames. <

While I would love a version that works fully now, there is no other "approach" they can take. You all need to realize that Stardock has consistently been doing the imprbable... They release high level OS hacks that are completely safe, reliable, stable, and efficient. Windowblinds is the highest level of all of them because essentially, it is skinning the entire operating system. Windows 10 included a ui overhaul. If you don't believe me or the support t

So, Win 10 is RTM, and windowblinds works in general. Is there a way you could enable it to ignore the taskbar? If that were the case, we would have usable functionality for the time being (the only other bug I see is windows explorer backgrounds do not work). Thank you. ~Leko

So, I did figure out a workaround. If you close the windowblinds system tray process, then run startisgone, it is all back to normal. By the way, if you are wondering, start isgone just hides the button. If you go to the corner of the screen, it is still there. ~Leko

Hello, I have just jumped into the world of skinning with this suite of apps. I thank Wizard for already helping me out a bit. I have tweaked the regular win 8 theme a bit and have it almost perfect; except, I currently do not use the start button. So, I use start is gone to hide it. If I use the regular win 8 taskbar without running window blinds, start is gone works fine. However, when WB is running, it leaves a space where the start bu

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew how to change the bottom of the explorer window in win 8. I see some skins have done it. it is the part in the screenshot that says 8 items. I have been all over the net and cannot figure it out. Thanks in advance. ~Leko </p
