Going the other way on this one. If those are the Legendary Heroes portraits back, I am not going to complain, they always looked painted rather than assembled and my sovereigns read more like people out of a story. My Ashborne line is a few generations deep now and the older style suits the family album idea better, at least to my eye.

That is the version of it I want. An heir who might not stay loyal gives you a reason to care which child inherits, instead of just watching the name carry over. I have not played Bannerlord so I cannot say how well it works there, but a second son who goes off and founds his own city and then decides how he feels about you is a better story than anything my Ashborne line has managed so far.
Glad to see Turinium coming back. It was the win condition that actually made me care about holding ground in the first game instead of just building a deathball and wandering around the map with it. Been here since the founder days so its nice watching the old modes turn up again.
My current game is House Ashborne and I have been enjoying it a lot, the succession line is a nice touch and I like that the dynasty name follows your sovereign around. It just doesnt come up much after the first couple of generations. Half the fun of picking a dynasty is imagining the family drama and right now that mostly lives in my head instead of in the game.
