Okay, I'll do the proper beta tester thing and report a minor problem or glitch in an interaction with Object Dock and the Task Bar. That was my reaction: Holy-moly, this is exactly what I needed in order to want to use any of those desktop-hogging metro apps. And I concur with your statement there, that given practically everything useful launches on the desktop anyway, it should be capable of being 'in charge'. Stardock's Start8 button went a long way to helping this -- and I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of WindowBlinds 8 -- but ModernMix fixes a problem I never thought would be addressed.
Same boat here: I keep checking back every few days to see if/when WindowBlinds 8 will be available. I absolutely hate the flat, no-feature Windows 8 UI.
