Frogboy, I think that the teaser looks fantastic and I'm considering becoming a founder. I never do that. I just try to get free, casual games, so for me to purchase a game above 3 dollars means I think it looks really great. I'm at peace with it not being in the SC2 universe. Perhaps one day a simple, low-end sequel can be made? Perhaps if this game does well, then a small spin-off project can be done that continues the story? I wouldn't care about poor graphics a

I'm not sure if I've seen the most recent trailer. Can someone link? Star Control was able to blend serious and silly in the most perfect way. I'm not sure if it could be recaptured. A lot of it depends on how open we are to it. The fact is that we won't be the same kind of people when we revisit Star Control. When we first saw it, we were probably like, "What's this? Do I even like this? This is kinda cool. That's interesting..." And it grew on us. If
Do you have room for an unskilled, inexperienced, intern who can work from home? I'll work for minimum wage and turn out high quality spaghetti code.
I wonder if some of the Sentient Milieu could appear. Drall, Taalo, Mael Num (or Melnorme?) etc.
Babylonslament, that's a cool idea. It will be interesting to see what Stardock comes up with.
Awkbird, I'm glad to find someone who agrees with me. I'd never thoughts of that interesting battle idea. I wish I could see it implemented somewhere. I think that in SC 2 the Precursors were supposed to be really big. Like Wooly Mammoths or something. http://wiki.uqm.stack.nl/Precursors
Spoilers for Star Control 3 if you haven't played it. I know all the problems with Star Control 3. I especially disliked the contradictions with the canon and story established in Star Control 2. But there were some things that I liked about it that sometime get overlooked. 1. I thought that the revelations about the Mycon were interesting. I think that it was an appropriate development of their story-line and I think it should be considered canon. It really
Honestly I can't see how the customization of Galactic civilizations would be able to work on a first person shooter except the ship. They don't have the ground like you would need harder if customized. None of the abilities, personalities, parties, or mega events. Lets not forget anomoly and planetary artifact abilities wouldn't apply. If taken out there wouldn't be much customization. If applied wouldn't affe
Not to mention the Syreen... [e digicons][/e]
Thanks for the responses. Just for those doggin' on the idea, please read in my post how I said maybe it shouldn't be a part of the main game. Like a spin off. And even if they never make it, I just think it is a cool idea. I mean in most FPS's (including multiplayer) there's not a ton of customization. There's some around armor and guns, but imagine how different a Spathi would fight from an Arilou or an Orz with their fishy combat suits. Or an Ur Quan or a Utwig.
quoting post I don't know if this should be a part of the main game, but I think it would be really cool to have a first person shooter with each race having unique abilities. I've often thought that a survival horror game could be made in the Star Control universe. The player would be someone who had been kidnapped from an Earthling Cruiser that had been defeated in battle. She'd start in the
Saibashi, I agree. That would be fun.
I'm, surprised by the responses. When it comes to features, I wonder awkbird if you have ever heard of the game "Mass Effect." It's basically Star Control with FPS. To Precursors_TiLT, have you ever played Halo or Counterstrike? Imagine if you have a lot of different skills to choose from, including character builds and appearances. I think it would be the funnest FPS game out there.
I don't know if this should be a part of the main game, but I think it would be really cool to have a first person shooter with each race having unique abilities. Imagine the Spathi, the Arilou or the Druug with their own unique abilities that translated from starship combat to first person combat. The Thraddash could have "nuclear" grenades, the humans could have a homing missile, the Ilwrath could have a timed invisibility cloak. I think that would be an awesome g
