HI VerizonLover, It might depend on what Start Menu style you are using, but for the Modern Style (Windows 7 style) which I use, you can modify the right hand side of the Start menu in Start11 Under, Start Menu, Configure Menu, Quick Access side shortcuts. I thought there was a way to remove the user account picture as well, but I could not find it just now so someone else will have to chime in for that. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/56/39/5639830/1aef018b-2
For those with some 2.5 issues we have a test build here https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ahvwl0nmANO2k-4EMFMJwFOAYC86tw Changes : 1) Hopefully resolved issue with explorer windows popping up on Win11 with ExplorerPatcher and potentially could happen on Win10 too. . . . Please do let us know if this helps. I recommend uninstalling first,
Yeah, I noticed the old icon of the installer after I posted above and then checked the details tab and saw the version number. So I loaded up a new VM and just installed it to check it out and sure enough was 1.55. 🫤 Back to combing the web. Don't understand why at least the previous version would not be available in our download areas for this type of thing? Oh well.
I downloaded version 2.11 from Up to Down. I don't like installing from 3rd party, but have used them before when running into other instability issues with other apps. /fingers crossed
Thanks SShishi, haven't come across Up to Down before. but it's in my Bookmarks now. 😁 I picked it up there as well, but holding off on install for now in hope the StarDock crew might be able to tame the buggies. I verified the SHA25
However, I am not uninstalling Explorer Patcher because of this problem.
Same here, at least until Quick Launch Toolbars gets added to Start11. 😁 Then I'll take another look at retiring Explorer Patcher. 😉 I have the 2.074 installer if someone wants it they can PM me. I am still looking for the 2.11 installer. Scoured my backups & net and can't find one. 🙁 Guess I won't be using the auto updater anymore and making
Howdy all! 🤠 Here is a video of an issue I had after updating to 2.5 this afternoon. I rolled back to 2.074 which was the last installer I had and the issue went away. I thought I could work thru it as is, but it was filling up my taskbar way too quick and it was killing my productivity for work. I was on 2.11, but I can't seem to find anywhere to download that from a safe location. Is there a way to get the previous version from Stardock's website / our account page? Thanks! <p
Looks great, now about those Quick Launch Toolbars . . . . [e digicons]:-"[/e]
That would be extremely helpful. A link sent via private message to myself would also work.
Sent, thank you!
Hi Basj, I did a backup of my settings, performed the uninstall / reinstall of Start 11 v2.07, set my Start Menu to Left aligned and kept the default of Windows 7 style during the initial setup, and then the jump list icons worked as expected. I then proceeded to restore my settings using the Settings Backup, Restore Settings and selected my backup file and the icon problem issue returned. I then used the Reset Start 1
Hi all, I made a quick video right after logging into Windows 11 23H2 (22631.3447) to show a weird issue I am seeing related to Jump Lists. The icons correctly start by showing the proper file type icons for each jump list but then once you start mousing over files in the jump list, they get replaced with the icons for the program (instead of for the file types). This just started recently for me, maybe with the 2.07 update? That time frame seems about right. I tried clearing my
While using the mouse to scroll around in Start 11 v2's settings, if your mouse happens to land over an option that has a drop down, instead of continuing scrolling down the page it starts scrolling the options which can change settings without the user realizing it.
Congrats on the 1.2 launch! I hope it brings many exactly what they are looking for. I also appreciate the rebuild for better support and working around Microsoft's crazy! Should be worth the effort I think and put you in a great position going forward! I just wanted to report for my use, I will be holding back at 1.11 so I can keep Quick Launch toolbar support. As soon as that can make it back in with small icon support I would be back. For others who might be in the same boat, I am
In the meantime, checkout ExplorerPatcher. It's been working great for months. Very grateful for it! https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher

In the Start 11 settings for Win 7, Start Menu section, under All programs list, use the drop down and try changing the 'Show universal applications in their own folder' toggle.
I think it's going out really fast because Windows 11 was pushed out really fast and they are trying to bring the core functionality to the masses so those of us who have to get started in the Windows 11 world (whether or not we want to yet) can at least get some of Start 11's features now. A lot of the issues you listed up above are due to MS disabling, removing, or hiding core functionality. Stardock is in a tight spot as they need to weigh if MS is going to cave in and fix some of
Yup! Already gladly paid up for Object Desktop, but would gladly pay again to see Never Combine with text labels come back. Is there a tip jar will can put in towards new features? I don't care if MS did get their head out of their butts and bring it back themselves, would trust StarDock's solution more. Think this feature alone could really boost your new customer numbers as I think there is going to be a ton of folks looking for this.
Hi Basj, Thanks for the reply. Not an issue really, just didn't know if it was possible. I like using it in the All Programs list, just wanted the same thing on the main Start menu. For us folks with the bad eyes. [e classic][/e] Something for the ol' wishlist folks I guess. Thanks again Basj!
Is there a way to get large icons in Start 10 for pinned folder contents and jump lists? Thanks for any ideas! [e digicons][/e]
I use the Modern Style for Start10 and I like having the Settings link on the right side so it's always available but I didn't want it taking up a slot in my All programs list. I couldn't find another solution here in the forum to do this so thought I would share what I ended up doing to make it work for me. - If you just delete the default C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Settings.lnk shortcut from All Programs, it breaks the Settings link on the right side as wel
Hi Basj, Thanks for the response. Here is a screenshot from the Microsoft post showing the new Create Event feature from the Taskbar Calendar and a link to the post discussing it. This feature was working until I installed Start10 1.75 https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-insider/at-home/whats-new-wip-at-home-1909 <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/foru
I know 1909 has just released, but is there an update coming or a beta that supports 1909's new Taskbar calendar task adding? I just had to do a reload and the Media Creation tool is installing 1909 now and I tried that new Taskbar calendar feature before I reinstalled Start10 and I kind of loved it. :) Installed Start10 and it went bye-bye. Just hoping an update is around the corner. Thanks all!
Worked like a champ sdRohan! Thanks guys!
Thanks AzDude!
Is there a way in Start 10 to hide shortcuts & folders? I have my start menu organized by categories and I am constantly having to remove and reorganize things when programs update and recreate their shortcuts and folders. I found this post on the forum saying it was planned for Start 8 but I didn't use Windows 8 / Start 8 very long so I don't recall. Would probably be easiest if Start 10 could just honor the
