Hi, I used the Start8 free trial successfully and purchased when it ran out, but I can't get it activated. I have uninstalled twice and the same thing happens. When I put in my serial number, I get a pop-up that says "the activation program could not communicate with the server." It's not a firewall or connection problem and I have added Start8 to the allowed app list. Can anyone tell me how to get this activated? I hate this OS without Start8!

HA! Bingo! I bought my laptop for gaming and work (I'm a middle school teacher), it does not have a touchscreen so why the hell would I want to go through all of the crap to do what I need it to, when all it does is slow down a kick-ass machine? What's really sad is that one of the support people at M.S. told me that he listens to people complaining all day about how bad this OS is, and that he hates it too! As I'm concerned, it's useless junk. Thanks Stardock for making it be
