I went with WinStep for the Dock: http://winstep.net/ I still use Start11, which is an excellent start menu replacement for Microsoft's stupid moves.

I have the same question. My Win11 laptop will not open the Windows menu when holding down the Start Menu key a bit longer. It does on my Win11 Desktop. The desktop had a previous version of Stardock StartMenu on it before I upgrade both my laptop and desktop to Win11 with Start11. The desktop can still open the default Windows menu when holding the left StartMenu key for just a bit longer than normal. The laptop will not. Neither seems to have a setting for that, so I'm guessing there is a r

Yea, I was using it that way (which if I remember correctly breaks any of the real time applets like weather). I really like the program and want them to continue to support it. But if they are not going to certify it under Win10 and not provide updates, then I'm done. It will just be a matter of time until it causes more issues, and at this point unless something changes - it looks like a dead-end product.

Just worth noting:
I heard back from support and I'll share it here. They said the Object Dock pages are up-to-date. That means it is only supported on Win8 and below (not Win10). I also asked the future of Object Dock and the response was "It is unknown"
So if I'm reading these links correctly Object "dock" is NOT compatible with WIn10 ? https://forums.stardock.com/469435/page/1/ ObjectDock No And the Object Dock main page states only Win8 NOT Win10 https://www.stardock.com/products/objectdock/ [e digicons]8C[/e] </

Yes, very disappointing. My biggest issue is the delay thing when you close an app and try to go open another from the Dock - it seems to do nothing. You have to wait. There is a thread on this issue and disabling a DLL to make that go away (but is also disables the live icons). Stardock - I would happily pay a modest cost if you would actually keep this dock going and more active. I have moved one of my other PC's to an open source dock that works really well - but I like yours. Plea

I'm running 1.11 and have not Universal Apps showing like the OP. They use to be there... Update: I rebooted and it appears Win10 had updates, they applied and then the Universal Apps were back.

There is an issue. As noted earlier in this thread, removing the 64 bit piece removes the delays and lets it load a bit faster. I'm just shocked Stardock is not addressing, commenting or otherwise acknowledging this issue. Everyone on this thread is in agreement so go figure...

Stardock, can someone respond to this issue? Do you acknowledge it is an issue? Is it not and thus it is something on my machine (and everyone in this thread)? Any workarounds other than disabling the 64 bit items? And why does doing that fix the problem?

Not sure if this will help anyone else - but... I was running version 2.10.x and I have it set to automatically update. I even manually tried updating a number of times and it always said I had the latest version. I then went to my download portal and looked. There was a version 2.20.x ?? So I backed up OD and uninstalled it. I reinstalled version 2.20.x - all my settings stayed and the delay (at least at this point) is gone!

I was thinking what would make it want to delay on closing a program. Then I remembered I enabled "Show indicator under running programs". So I thought I'd put the Dock64 files back in place and try turning that off. However after putting the Dock64 files back in play, I'm no longer getting the delays. I still have the Indicator running and did nothing more than add the files back. Put the weather docklet back and it is working. I've done a couple of reboots to be sure. OD is stil

WOM - you didn't read it wrong, we just morphed into two topics: 1) OD will hesitate / hang when launching / closing applications launched from OD 2) OD is slow to start on boot For me too - OD is always the last item to load.

Yea, we have a couple of different things going on this thread. I didn't have a delay launching but did have one closing apps. The Dock would clock. Renaming those files did stop that. I do hope Stardock is looking at some performance improvements in the next release...

Thanks Randy, I think that is the delay we are talking about. Jafo - I take that point about Windows now relegating 3rd party apps to start after it - having said that I have like 20 items in my system tray they all load pretty soon after login. In addition I recently installed Rainmeter to watch my drive and processor. Even that loads way before ObjectDock comes active - and I just installed it so that isn't causing any more load. It is still a solid 15-20 seconds after Rainmeter

I'm running Win Pro 10 x64 with 8G of memory, RAID array and an Intel I5 processor. After login, everything comes active but there is a delay before I see the Dock at the bottom. I also have a few flyout menus on the Dock - not sure if that adds anything to the mix. Randy, do you shutdown your computer or put it to sleep or hibernate? I'd be interested from a cold boot and login, how long after login before you see the Dock?

For me the rename of the x64 files just corrected the bit of clocking when closing items launched from the dock (and some minor delay in starting apps from the dock). However, upon boot it does take my Win10 system much longer to display the dock than it did under Win 7. I'd say the 30 secs. sounds about right. Under Win7 I'd see the dock very soon after boot. Under Win10 there is a very noticeable delay. I just thought it was something on my system, but after looking around, and remo

By the way, I think dock64.exe and dock64.dll have something to do with Docklets like Weather. Once I renamed those my weather docklet stopped working. Just an FYI for others.

Stardock - renaming those dock64.exe and dock64.dll files also worked for me. What I was noticing is when I would close a program and go to ObjectDock to pick a new one, I'd get a spinning cursor for a few seconds - like ObjectDock was busy. Taking out the 64 bit files absolutely stopped that and the dock is still working. I'm running Win10. Can we get some feedback on this?
