[/quote] That's the same version I have under Windows 8.1, and I did exactly what you suggested i.e. open a document via the Recent Items and it did not show up under Recent Programs. It looks as if an update has cleared up this issue. Not sure when it stopped mixing documents into the "Recently Used Programs" list, but it no longer seems to be doing so. Gary
I started using Start8 about a month ago and one thing annoys me. The "Recently Used Programs" list shows both programs and documents. I want it to show only programs, I can see recent documents via the "Recent Items" list. Gary
