I started using Start8 about a month ago and one thing annoys me. The "Recently Used Programs" list shows both programs and documents. I want it to show only programs, I can see recent documents via the "Recent Items" list.

Same for me. Really annoying because programs that I use a lot are getting bumped off the Program List because recent documents show up on the list. Then I have to go clean it up and remove all the documents.
Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to duplicate this here.

It looks as if an update has cleared up this issue. Not sure when it stopped mixing documents into the "Recently Used Programs" list, but it no longer seems to be doing so.

I have v1.31 and it still happens. To reproduce simply open up a document using the Recent Items menu. After I close the document it appears in the Recent Programs list.
That's the same version I have under Windows 8.1, and I did exactly what you suggested i.e. open a document via the Recent Items and it did not show up under Recent Programs. I did have this issue back in July when I first posted this, and it continued for quite a while. At some point though documents stopped appearing in the programs list.

Thanks for the info. I was able to duplicate the issue by doing this. I have submitted this issue to the developers for review.
What sort of document are you opening? I will try to reproduce it here too. So far I haven't seen it happen any more.
