Thank you Neil. You saved me a lot of time uninstalling, reinstalling, and reconfiguring my settings. It was a Windows settings that caused this. I thought it was a group policy, but turned out to be a registry setting that disabled pinning to taskbar. I also reactivated my license and that removed the Business edition. Both computers are now the same and functioning correctly.

I have two computers running Start11. Both are latest version 2.55. When I right click on a program in the taskbar, one computer has the option to pin to the taskbar and the other does not. As far as I know, both used the same installer and license key which was good for 5 computers. However the computer missing the option to pin to the taskbar says Business edition. The other computer does not say that. Is there an option to enable pinning, or does it have
Nevermind. I figured out how to browse for an icon in the customize icon screen. One quirk I noticed is when I change multiple items, the first icon I change gets reset (arrow returns) after change another icon. Just had to go back and do the first one again. It was reproducible.
I've added items to my dock in ObjectDock. I have a folder with shortcuts (.lnk) and then dragged them to my dock. Some of these items in the dock show an arrow on the icon and others do not. In one scenario, both are shortcuts to Excel files. Why would one have the arrow and the other does not? Is there a way to create the shortcut so it doesn't have an arrow when adding to the dock? After adding to the dock, is there a way to remove the arrow in ObjectDoc
Thanks for the suggestion. After changing the taskbar to small, I rebooted. That fixed my basic problem. Dock was positioned correctly and maximized window was correctly above dock. I still have an issue, so may have to stick with the medium taskbar, but reboot may fix this for most people. So you know, it worked if the dock was set to automatic distance from edge. If you position it manually, then a maximized goes behind the dock. See below.
I am using a custom background. I modified the BlackOps background by changing the color of the background-h.png file. I thought maybe I did something wrong, so I tried other backgrounds that came preinstalled. All did the same thing. I tried BlackOps, BlackOps 3D, Acrylic, DogmaX, Eminence, K-TEK, and Live Dock. As proof, here's another screen shot.
Here's what I'm seeing. This is correct behavior when I use medium taskbar (Start11) and automatic distance from edge (ObjectDock). My dock sits on top of taskbar. Dock is slightly shorter than full screen width so you can tell the difference between dock and taskbar since they're the same color. I have two screens. Dock is on first/primary screen. I'm only showing screen shots for primary screen. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/53/22/532
Answers: Windows 11 version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.3775) Start11 version 2.51 Business edition ObjectDock version 3.01 Issue appears on any application that's maximized when Start11 has small taskbar.
I'm using both Start11 and ObjectDock. I have a dock above the taskbar. I've enabled "reserve edge of screen" I want to maximized windows to stay above the dock. This works fine if the taskbar in Start11 is medium size. If I change the taskbar to small, maximized windows don't reserve the edge of the screen. I've tried distance from edge to be fixed or automatic. Everything works great with the dock and windows positions if the taskbar is medium.
I downloaded v2 but I was using v1. Upgraded and paid. Working great now. Thanks.
I have a dock, but it doesn't always remember to reserve edge of screen. My dock is at the bottom above the taskbar. I enable "Reserved edge of screen" and it works fine. Maximized windows stay above the dock. However I've had windows later not stay above the dock. It seems to happen after removing my laptop from the docking station when the resolution changes. I also had it happen when using Remote Desktop to another computer. For RDP, the other comp
I wanted to pin programs to the task bar. I couldn't find any way to do that. When searching the community and help, I'm seeing screen shots with "taskbar pins" on the menu on the left side of the Start11 configuration screen. The screen shots also have a menu for settings backup. I don't have either of those options and wondering why they would be missing. Do they no longer exist, or do I have some setting that's disabling features? Thanks.
Looks like this is working as it should. I open the start menu to switch users, and Windows remembers I had the start menu open when it initiated the lock screen. So when I come back, the lock screen is still open from before I switched. It's not that it pops up when logging back it, it's still open from when I switched. Simplest workaround was to create a short to lock the account. Then the start menu isn't opened, so it's still closed when I log back in.
I login to user A. I go to start menu and switch user. I then login to user B. After logging in to user B, I then switch back to user A. The start menu is open for user A. Then if I switch to user B, the start menu is open for user B. Every time I switch to another user account, the start menu is open for that account. The first time I login, it's fine. but if I've already logged into an account and switch back to it from another account, the st
I have Start11 installed on a Windows 10 laptop. There's two user accounts. When I switch from one user to another, the start menu is always popped once I'm logged back in. I can't find a setting that would disable this. I want to switch to the other account and not have the start menu opened when I reconnect to that running session.. Is there any way to control this in the settings? Thanks.
Windows has the feature to show a line when dragging a file between two other files. This way, I know I'm moving the file between the other files, and not dropping it onto one of them. I lost that after installing Fences. I don't see an option in Fence to enable this. Is this a Windows setting that I can re-enable? I found Fences enabled drop shadows but I was able to reset that in my Windows settings. I can't figure out how to get this line bac
I'm looking for a way to have files 'related' to another file be put in the same fence as the original file. For example when I open MS Word and edit a file, I'd like the temporary file to be place in the fence with the word document. Also if I copy a file that's in a fence, then the pasted file should also go in the same fence. I can' paste to a fence using the right-click context menu, but can't do it using CTRL-V. I don't see any way
