I have read that thread. It does not answer my question nor does it tell me that my version of Start11 is not the full version I paid for and downloaded. My version of Windows11 is also not a beta version. Perhaps you can take pity on me and explain step by step how I install the new version OI have just bought off the stardock website with out having to uninstall the version I have now. At 70 I don't think that is an unfair request.
Thank you for your message. I was under the impression that this was a normal version that I had paid for not a beta version. Perhaps you can answer the original question and tell me how I download the non-beta version that will work with my pc? I am surprised that when I click check for updates on the version installed, it told me it was upto date. So far I have not received any notification that there were any newer versions available.
Sorry? What are you saying? When I check my version of Start 11 for updates, it tells me mine is up to date. Perhaps you elucidate?

Sorted! I found that you have to adjust the menu transparency to almost 100% then the colour change works. Pity it does not explain this in the FAQ's.
can someone please explain in list form how to set the menu colour in Start11 1.36, on windows 11 22h2 to custom colour. I can find no way to set this. Would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the response. I did as suggested which worked, however, I was not able to remove some links/menu items from the navigation bar that were customisable with start10. I have now returned to start10 with no problems.
Just install new start10/11 Version 1.0 through upgrade from start 10 onto windows 10 pc running Windows version 21H1 (os build 19043.1320). I am unable to change the menu background colour to anything other than black. All else seems to work ok.
Will start10 be compatible with this windows 10 update due anytime now?

Try to use that version again if you still have it.
See if you can get hold of version 1.0 and see if that works.
Back again guys! Same old problem as before. PC starts up correctly and all icons showing on desktop BUT no text, just empty transparent boxes. I have uninstalled version 1.5 and reinstalled version 1.0. All works well now. Something, either hardware or software, probably hardware does not work with later versions of this program. At least the earlier version works with no problems so I will have to use that. Oh well, onward and upwards! TO ozgadgetguy,
Have just uninstalled stardock10 ver 1.0 using Revo uninstaller pro and then installed the new stardock 10 ver 1.5 with no problems! Seems something in Ver 1.11 did not like my machine or the program. Tried it more than one and also downloaded it each time. Now all is well. Weird or what?
Hi, No I don't have anything else running. I have just the standard win 10 theme to which I add my own wallpaper, colours etc. No change of icons or sounds. its very frustrating.
So what colour should you use? I have not change the colours I set windows to when first upgrading to Windows 10
Hi, I have used start10 version 1.0 since updating to windows 10 64 bit pro with no problems. I have tried to update to start10 version 1.11 on a number of occasions which result in no text on the taskbar or start menu with the pc set to windows 7 rounded style. This is results in re-installing start 10 version 1.0. I have no problems with any other software other than this version of start 10. Can anyone offer advice? Thank you David
