Possibly. I noticed that only Avira IS means the explorer.exe seems to be modified. I found no other sec. app with this "report" of HEUR/Modified.SystemFile in explorer.exe. Strange. I was wondering that a scan result could be incorrectly just because of some registry keys from Start8. (Unhappily i didn´t note the keys). I will tell you more again after my report to avira. &n
Hello! Now, a few weeks later i found the reason of the report from Avira Internet Security 2013. After uninstalling Start8 there were some entrys in the registry which were not removed by the Start8 Uninstaller. Avira IS noticed this and reported this as possible maleware (just if you set "check the integrity of systemfiles" in Aviras configuration). Now i cleaned the registry and removed all Start8 entrys by hand. Everything works fine now a

Yes, Avira says the file "C:\Windows\explorer.exe" was found with suspicious malware "HEUR/Modified.SystemFile".
After scanning my pc i always get a information from Avira Internet Security Suite about a suspicious malware HEUR/Modified.SystemFile in modified explorer.exe. Is it possible that Start8 is the reason of this finding?
I am using the Windows 7 style with sqare corners. But i am usig it not so much, i like the original new "Start" from Windows 8

Hello at all :-) I think the possibility to set default values (windows values) could be a good feature. (e.g. by a button). So everyone can set his own settings. (in my opinion start with desktop is not required for all)
Hello enricofinamore, i think it´s not possible. But you can add the libary to the Startmenü of Start8 on the left side. Go the libary, right click on e.g. "Pictures" and click "Create shortcut" (in germany (my system) its "Verknüpfung erstellen". Then go to desktop and move the shortcut per drag and drop to the start menü of start8. If you "re"-created the Quick Launch in your OS you can also move the shortcut to this Quick launch.

Hello from germany. Yesterday i found Start8 in the www and installed it on my pc. It seems to be a nice program. [e digicons]^_^[/e] So i made a german translation for Start8 v 1.1 beta 2. Made with a trial version. You can find my file here . I am using this space so i can easily update/upload changes. It would be nice to see this translation as a part of Start8. </p
