How to Know When There is A New Version of Start 8

other than checking for updates on the configuration menu, does anyone know how you are notificed of a new update?

The new version Start8 v1.1 RC Beta will check for updates weekly

As myonno mentions 1.1 has a feature to check automatically. I also expect we will send a mailer to everyone who has purchased Start8 when 1.1 is out letting them know about it.
