I was having the same issue as described by Forzano. Even having a Decor8 background set, it would give me a black accent color or color scheme. I hope the new update comes out soon.
This is happening using Windows 8.1 . When choosing a standard windows color scheme, decor8 1.06 applies it but if I open a window on the desktop it looses that color scheme. A black color is present now instead of the chosen color scheme, also displays a black color at the Login window.
