ModernMix version 1.12 The top edge of a desktop maximized W8.1 app window displays the hand grabber. Using the grabber to close the window doesn't actually close the app and doesn't appear to serve any purpose. Is there a way to turn-off this hand grabber or is this a bug? Thank you, Richard

Neil - any update on the beta update with a fix for this? Thank you.
I would like to add my name to the list as somebody that is also having this problem. Please fix... Thank you.
I previously reported this issue on this forum and to the Stardock help desk. Here's what I reported: Using Start8 I have the Windows 8 charms bar and hot corners disabled. After closing a modern app from the desktop by clicking the 'X' in the upper right top border corner the charms bar and hot corners become enabled even though I have them disabled from S
I created a post on this a few days ago and want to make sure it doesn't get lost. Here's the post: "After closing a modern app from the desktop by clicking the 'X' in the upper right top border corner the charms bar and hot corners become enabled even though I have them disabled from Start8. If I mouse click on the desktop after closing the modern app (clicking the 'X') the charms bar and hot corners are correctly not enabled, so for some reason Mo
I reported the same issue a day or two ago in the posting titled 'How should modern applications appear when opened'. I agree this is a problem that should be fixed soon. Thank you.
Yes...I made sure the fullscreen app was closed and I confirmed it by checking Task Manager.
Hi - I'm on ModernMix version 1.0a. I have specified in the ModernMix configuration that a modern app window when opened from the desktop should always open maximized. But this doesn't work if I previously opened the app from the Windows 8 Start menu in fullscreen - it will also open in fullscreen from the desktop. Once I change the app back to maximized from the desktop it will then continue to open maximized. But once it is opened in fullscreen from
I am using a Logitech M505 mouse with X-Mouse Button as the driver, but these types of mouse features are common and I have seen them with Logitech Setpoint and Microsoft Intellimouse drivers/software. Nonetheless, this 2nd issue is not as important as the first issue I noted. Any feedback on the first issue? Thank you.
I just installed ModernMix 1.0a. This latest release looks good and appears to be stable, but I'm still having the following 2 minor issues: After closing a modern app from the desktop by clicking the 'X' in the upper right top border corner the charms bar and hot corners become enabled even though I have them disabled from Start8. If I mouse click on the desktop after closing the modern app (clicking the 'X') the charms bar and hot corners are c
Just checking with Stardock if this is something they would consider as a feature in a future release... I think having the requested distinction on the 'Switch to desktop after closing a modern UI app' feature added in Start8 version 1.1 would be a nice addition. Ideally this feature would be added so that a user has a choice to always return to the desktop or to return to the desktop only when the modern app is started from the desktop. Thank you...
I have noticed that the taskbar thumbnail preview does not show a live picture of the modern app when the app is minimized to the desktop taskbar - it only displays the color of the app. The live picture does correctly display in the thumbnail preview when the modern app is maximized from the desktop. Is this due to a Windows limitation or is this something that can be fixed? Thank you.
I think you are correct. I did a few tests and the only time the event appears to be created is when I close the app shortly after opening it. Thanks.
After installing ModernMix I am now receiving a lot of 'App did not launch within its allotted time' events in the Windows 8 Event Viewer when I open a W8 app. Here's the details from a specific event: App Microsoft.BingNews_8wekyb3d8bbwe!AppexNews did not launch within its allotted time. Event Id: 2486 Source: Apps Level: Error Keywords: (64), Process Lifetime Manager I used to receive these errors ever
I would also like to state that I think the app should fully close after clicking the 'X'. As others have noted the app still appears on the Modern UI left hand "strip" after it has been closed by clicking the 'X'. This is a problem that should be fixed. Thank you.
Thank you for adding the 'Switch to desktop after closing a modern UI app' feature to version 1.11 of Start8. It's a helpful feature. But...can you please consider enhancing this feature to allow 'Switch to desktop after closing a modern UI app' only when a modern UI app is invoked from the desktop vs. when a modern UI app is invoked from the Windows 8 Start Menu? I have several modern UI apps pinned to my Start8 start menu - I would like to return to
I have also had several explorer.exe crashes when selecting the Start8 start menu button. I don't get it when performing multiple rapid clicks - it occurs randomly and not very often when I select the start8 taskbar button. Here is info on my latest crash: Faulting application name: explorer.exe, version: 6.2.9200.16384, time stamp: 0x50107dbc Faulting module name: msvcrt.dll, version: 7.0.9200.16384, time stamp: 0x5010ac20 Exception code: 0x40000015 Fau
