OMG im so dumb - you can move the main task bar independently to the secondary screen, thus swapping them around. My bad.

I had Start8 installed and decided to unlock the taskbar and move it to the left side of the screen. Start 8 and the time disappeared! I tried uninstalling Start8 and restarting the computer to no success. Help!
