After updating my laptop from Windows 10 to Windows 11, Multiplicity will not connect. I uninstalled and reinstalled Multiplicity on both the primary and the laptop secondary; I copied the Multiplicity4_setup_sd.exe file used to reinstall on the primary to the laptop to ensure the same install version. It still fails to connect with the same error message: "The computer appears to be running a different version of Multiplicity."
I was able to bypass this issue using an Autohotkey script that switches windows before switching PCs with Multiplicity. However, when the game is active on the primary PC, and I'm controlling the 2nd PC, the mouse moves on both. So this is the next item I need to tackle. Would appreciate any assistance. Known issues While we appreciate all feedback, please remember that we offer no official support for beta \ preview \ developer channel versions of Windows. If you report issues while in any of those early release channels, you should not expect them to be addressed unless it still exists in a retail version of Windows. tbd
Let me give you more detail here: Windows 11 Insider Build 27858, I'm Canary branch, so I expect things to break from time to time. When I installed the patch, it had overwrote the start menu settings and forced it back to the default Win 11 Start menu style. So I figured just swap it back and no issue, but the settings in Start11V2 didn't change this time. So I figured
Hi Guys, I have an issue with my work laptop and MP connection. With windows 10 on the laptop KVM worked fine however after my work pushing out windows 11 upgrade they have locked the network down to being public and the primary PC is not seeing the laptop because it is set to public. Is there a work around for this please? Regards Dave G
It seem very odd that IT would intentionally lock a corp network to Public.
My inclination is to blame Windows, but their bugs are features which everyone else needs to accommodate. It would be helpful to have some sense for how to solve this.
If your suggestion is that we do what we can to work around fundamental network issues, likely introduced by the OS, a medium that Multiplicity absolutely needs to function for the product to work reliably, we are open to what you have in mind.
Hello, I didn't need to perform the procedure to resolve the problem: I tried changing the setting directly through Windows (which I don't usually do since I ask Start 11 to take over). So I simply requested the taskbar be hidden via the computer's settings. Start 11 managed to hide it (apparently), but it remained invisibly in its place. Now it stays off-screen, and you really have to reach the lower limit to make it reappear.<br
OS Build 26100.4061 One clarification: Some of the disconnects are Multiplicity only, and the Ethernet connection is maintained. These tend to be quick dropouts and restarts. Then there are ones where Ethernet and M4 both drop, and it takes several seconds for the Ethernet to reconnect, then M4.
It seems clear (to you I mean) that there is an Ethernet issue. Even if you don't see every Ether
I have upgraded multiplicity to version 4, and now when I lock my primary computer, the secondary computer does not lock anymore. While your scenario is a challenge to follow, what may help immediately is that only 'Primary' PCs need a license, Secondary PCs do not. If you need to control another Primary with a Primary, that one Primary must be demoted to a Secondary 1st. You can do this and still keep the activation on the Primary - you will be prompted if you want to deactivate it and you would say 'no'. Lastly, activation and the status of Multiplicity as a Primary or Secondary is on a PC basis,
