the reason you get that is because you are using an N edition of windows 8. check if you have in windows start menu an app called music or one called video. if you don't, you probably have to install a windows 8 non-N edition.
when clicked on the show desktop icon on the bottom right, it causes the desktop shortcuts to disappear. only if there is a window open and you restore it, the icons get back to the desktop. also, right after installation, icons and shortcuts remain fixed will test it more thoroughly and come back with a more thorough bug description
hey, i would sugest a feature, i think it would be very easy to implement. after locking the screen, start8 should be able to go directly to the desktop. cheers
hello, i am using version 1.11 and i would like to say that am more than pleased with it. i would like to mention a feature request though. i used to be a big fan of win7 glass feature and after intensive searches i found a way to get glass transparency and blur working on win8. the main issue (and hence the feature request) is that start8 uses standard (layered) window to create transparency, not DWM. can you please implement this feature so i ca

hello, i would like to point out a bug i just discovered in 1.09 beta 2. if you restart the comuter and click on the start8 launcher then right click one of the places, for example computer, it doesnt do anything. it only works with items on the left side, not with the places. if you then left click one of the places, it lets you right click them afterwards. i would also suggest a feature, im not using the default windows 8 start menu at all so it
hello, let me say first that this my first post on this forum. i have a lot of experience as a tester and myself am a developer so i admire the work of the people that made this program possible. i have some suggestions on how to improve this piece of magnificent software. 1. make an option to disable each of the "improvements" brought by windows 8 by hovering the mouse over one of the corners (eg. if i want charms to appear only if i hover on th
