[Bug] Game won't run at all in Galactic Civilizations III GalCiv3 Forums

I downloaded and installed the beta version last week through steam. Just tried playing it today through clicking "play" in steam and going to where it is installed and double-clicking "GalCiv3.exe". Nothing happens in either case. (I see something flash on the task bar briefly, but not long enough to read what it says). I have: Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2. The secret, as suggested by another post, is to move your heroes with auto-explore enabled. What I did to finally resolve this was turn off all the auto-explore options on all my units doing the auto-exploring, then moved them, then hit end-turn again - and it worked. If you don't have someone auto-exploring, it could be another auto-_ problem, like suggested here auto-combat. other post: /391383
