I enjoyed these games and elemental has a great design concept IMO.[/quote] I enjoyed Galactic Civilizations 2 too despite its many flaws(like robot race having farms and identical visuals of buildings to all other races) but Stardock never addressed any of the flaws, instead they are winnowing it down even further with each game.

Why do you call Elemental remake of Master of Magic, I had much fonder impression of MoM in all its aspects than anything I saw of Elemental. The abysmal state of battle aspect is particularly troubling in terms of visuals, animations, and gameplay mechanic.

Elemental is a perfect example of a way in which Stardock makes their games. They build randomizers which give their games a sterile barren feel to avoid actually designing and making the game. They complement those with an interface like in a web browser game. And then just to avoid accusations of not having a proper game they add rudimentary animations and base graphics here and there. But this time they really seem to be streamlining this approach, as
