Stardock is losing it

Elemental is a perfect example of a way in which Stardock makes their games.

They build randomizers which give their games a sterile barren feel to avoid actually designing and making the game.

They complement those with an interface like in a web browser game.

And then just to avoid accusations of not having a proper game they add rudimentary animations and base graphics here and there.

But this time they really seem to be streamlining this approach, as one comment on their latest video says-

"Tactical battles, which are the crux of the game, are appalling compared to King's Bounty and Disciples 3.Really disappointed."

During my beta test participation, I found this quite true. Stardock's always been quite weak in this section in my opinion. Unit placement in tactical battle is bit messy. I just hope making a rant/post on Stardock's forum would give them time to refine this.

And then, take a look at the world, can it be really said that if the floor is colored green it is grass, or if it is colored yellow it is then desert?

Elemental feels really sloppy and flimsy in a lot of ways....

Dude what is so wrong with your life that you obsess over a game that you claim to hate so much. Why not go play king's bounty if it's so great man.

Hortz! I've missed you so over these last few days. Thank goodness you've returned, I don't know what we'd do without your incredibly useful posts. Oh that's right, we'd help make a decent game that isn't a clone of King's Bounty.

It is all well and good when something is different from something else to expand the enjoyability and give new experiences, but when something is blatantly subpar in vital areas of the game then you should be concerned instead of using superficially appealing words like "clone" which creates an illusion that you made some kind of point.

The fact that you are stupid enough to judge things from beta's as though they are a finished product proves you are not worth our time. Go kill yourself.

This is just a  Hate Topic... NiftyF should provide constructive advice so weak areas can be improved  OR  go find some other game.  Posting a hate topic is a waste of your time.

And once again, you demonstrate why no one will try to correct you on all your misconceptions about the game. You have no idea what you're talking about and refuse to listen to the people correcting you. We have all learned that trying to actually have a discussion with you or any of your aliases to prove you wrong is like smashing your head on a brick wall.

I really do not enjoy making these kinds of topics but Stardock really needs to wake up from their isolated fan-made-bubble.

And you are not helping by embracing cognitive dissonance.

Wait a second... did you use a new alias to quote the ramblings of an old alias as proof of... whatever?

Ya know, I dislike some of the things that SD did in elemental too, but the games almost out. What are you even trying to accomplish? And saying its not as good as Disciples 3? The game that is universally panned by reviewers for everything except its graphics?

...Do you know what a game is?

No.

Reviews talk negatively about campaign structure and other things, not the visual aspect and animations in battles, and the battle mechanic itself. That is unanimously applauded and that is the only thing I'm talking about.

You never heard of extrapolation?

I think that you look for different things in  a game then I do OP. Admittedly the tactical battles in the beta are not great, but lets cut SD some slack, it is the beta. Things just aren't finished. Overall I would say the beta has a very betaish feel to it, and is not that enjoyable to me over an extended period of time.

But based off of Gal Civ 2 and Sins. I trust SD. I enjoyed these games and elemental has a great design concept IMO.

I enjoyed Galactic Civilizations 2 too despite its many flaws(like robot race having farms and identical visuals of buildings to all other races) but Stardock never addressed any of the flaws, instead they are winnowing it down even further with each game.

I certainly won't justify someone who is trolling, if that is what this really is, but I always, always got the impression the elemental would be a piece that Stardock intended to work on long after the release. They're always talking about what they might look at later, so the release date shouldn't matter in terms of recommending changes. The tone of this criticism is off though, starting with the title of the post. If you really want something changed OP, change your tone, be specific and perhaps offer suggestions.

I've played Galc Civ, and I don't think your description of "Stardock games" really applies to that title. I do take issues with some of the design choices, but not to the extent you are suggesting.

You mean the clone of hereos of might and magic fights?  It never got panned due to its horrible AI and battles?(criticals are not suposed to happen every time for the enemy.)

If you don't like this game move on and stop acting like a spoiled child.

Bye Hortz.

The game ain't done yet.

They did make and design a campaign.

The UI has been upgraded for release.

However, nothing I can say can defend the tactical battles though... you got them here.
