I am all for a special building mechanic simular to AoW, but that cannot be spammed in multiple cities like the AoW wizard's tower was. It might could be implemented as a simular concept as Civ 4 has "national wonders" (National Wonders are buildings in Civ that only one per empire can exist.). To make a suitable penalty for losing a hero or soveriegn, it could be made that a ritual has to be preformed by the special building for X number of turns requiring X resources. I

Another thing to think about as far as gender-based units. Some FRP strategy games like Age of Wonders had a "seduce" power that would bring a male non-undead, non-beast unit under your control. Thing is, especcially with AoW, most units were male except maybe some heroes and some dark elf units. I am more concerned about how it will stack up versus Age of Wonders:SM. I felt AoW:SM was a bit better game in alot of areas than MoM. (But I could be biased since alot of the DnD gaming groups I was in at the time played it religously... so don't flame me) From what I have read so far, It seems to be a cross with AoW's system where you have one "soveriegn" unit that if defeated, you are defeated. However, without any resurrection or respawn. Good Thing!
