Another good idea is to give us, in the ship designer, cosmetic versions of the techs we can put into the ship. That way, if I make a fighter with one single laser worth of guns, I can still make it look like it has 4, for design purposes. These extra ones would serve no function whatsoever. Or maybe I am making a colony ship that looks more fitting to be ferrying 3 billion people, by adding more colonization modules. These,

Graphics wise, how finished is the game? Because as hyped as I am, it looks really like GalCiv 2 with some extra shaders on top. I mean, I dont expect Sins levels of zoom detail, I merely mean overall. From the video I felt it was GalCiv 2 with enhanced graphics, and hexes, and I REALLY hope I am wrong.

So I was recently playing AI Wars, and I was really interested in the tons of options for map generation, letting you have quadrants like X, tree strcutue links, clusters, and so on. One of the things I always hated about SoaSE maps was that there is rarely great chokepoints where you actually can stop an invasion, sort of how mountain passes work in other games, because at best I will see a setup where if I manage to reach said planets, I can have four chokepoints into
A DLC will just never be able to add a 4th race. I'm not sure a 4th race will ever fit into the Sins lore, but either way it will require a new Sins Engine which I hope Ironclad will embrace soon.
I am still hoping for the fourth race to be whatever the Vasari are running from. Even if not them, I would not be surprised if another race comes for revenge because one of the three

The outlines dont worry me, I could disable them in Borderlands by editing some files. Its just that it does not look like a warship. The middle hole even reminds me of how cruises also have the cabins like that around the promenade.

I want the Distant Worlds version of having many characters, which perform several roles, some are governors, some are fleet admirals, some troop commanders, some spies, some researchers, each is locked into that job, but grow better the more they work. They even had a leader character that would be the president/overlord/whatever political system that race uses, who gives bonuses to many areas depending on some chance, and some events.

I want a big tech tree like Distant Worlds, with maybe a bit of how Sword of the Stars handled it, where some techs might appear or not, or MoO2 version, just less of the stress of deciding between two awesome techs. Unless we could trade tech as easily as in GalCiv 2, in which case I can eventually get all.

Does not look Drengin to me, if someone had shown it to me without any context, I would have said it was a space cruise ship. Also, the thick outlines made me think it was from Borderlands instead.

While I dont have the money to buy the 100$ version, I am however pre ordering the basic one, despite my rule of never pre-ordering (Simcity fiasco hurt after 80$), I will only do this because its stardock, best PR ever, and great corporation behavior, I know it will be a great game, and if not, they would fix it, I trust them enough. Something I do not feel for most game companies.

That looks more like what I had in mind too, a short-ish spider like thing, where the head arms were in fact the legs as they bent around. Turns out they are tall dudes. I have this same feeling with the Boron from X, I cannot decided if they are tiny squids sitting on rocks, or thats their heads and theres a body underneath. :P

While the trailer was a massive excitement to me indeed, I felt like the most shocking reveal is that Thalans were not what we saw in the comms in GalCiv 2, where I pictured them as their heads suspended and those upper arms curving back down and being more of a spider thing. Come in the trailer, and Thalans are toned humanoids with arms in their head. My life has been a lie. :P Next thing we know, the Snathi are octopus like below the picture frame.

The faq says GalCIv 3 will have better diplomacy than 2. How so? Because I firmly believe the diplomacy in GalCiv is far superior to Elemental's or Sins. My doubt is, are they thinking along the same lines, or will we get a diplomacy where you can barely trade in like FE?

Ascian is god, specially with his maul ability. But yeah, I always end my game with a super army made up of my sov, 6-7 heroes, chances are I got another sov to surrender so I have him/her in too (So far only Kavarox or whatever the Kraxis one is surrenders to me) and as the cherry on top, a dragon. (Wish they were counted as champions). Last time I even had two dragons in my army, an ashwake and a storm one. They went first, each used fire breath, battle over. XD

Agreed, the diplomacy of the game seems lacking. Which is surprising, considering one of my favorite diplomacy implementations was that of GalCiv, where you could put things for the deal and compare, then you had to offer it, same went for war, you could hit the 'we declare war' and see the enemy look at you meanly, but unless you hit SEND, it was safe. :S

It says to keep it updated always... But I am not getting the update, nor achievements since yesterday. ... Hmm... at the bottom of my library, should that small button read OFFLINE MODE? As in 'click here for it'? Or I am offline? (Which would explain both problems) EDIT: Nevermind, I was in fact offline, which I do not even recall telling Steam to do.

I pronounce it as if it was some Egyptian Pharaoh. He-er-gamenon With the 'er' sounding like when you feel confused (Errh...) and the 'gamenon' as Agamemnon (to be fair, in spanish his name is lacking the extra M before the N) Also, you are welcome. :P

Say hello to the new problems, as annoying as the old ones, but different! XD EDIT: Little question here, I am new to this whole Steam game thing, I have LH in the library and currently playing it, but nowhere I see any prompt to update or check for one...
So as the earth has a circumference of about 25000 miles, and assuming the world of Elemental is about the same size for a normal world, you should be able to cross the entire map in about 13-16 seasons give or take due to terrain or roads. This seems a little low and I think I see the reasoning behind the immersion mods change to weeks but this might be too drastic and I would propose a change to months instead based upon these numbe

I agree with the above. I am currently trying LH on easy, and my only army is the standard sov and champs, the only defenses I have are a few archers on the border cities, and some bandits that have spawned from a recently taken border camp. And they all take a wage total of 30 gildar, and I am not even in mid game, I have 38 cities and just discovering unrest is a thing (YEAH... that was certainly unexpected. :P) So unless I rely on wageless troops like elementals, my income would dr
