Back in 2010 I purchased the original Elemental game – War of Magic direct from Stardock. I have not played it in some time. However, I recently bought a new computer and decided that I would try the game again. I logged into the Stardock site and

Frogboy, When Stardock stared using Steam to distribute your game software, i believe the reasons you stated had to do with lower Stardock costs related to publishing game patches and lower costs for early access type beta testing. It occurs to me that for your older games that are now stable (for example Galactic Civ 2 and Legendary Heroes) an additional outlet might add to Stardocks earnings. If Stardock were to start publishing its older games on GOG.com in addition t
So the new DLC is a batch of new leaders - not the dynasty option that I thought Frogboy mentioned?
First of all, Frogboy, thank you for the news on LH updates. The upcoming DLC and 2.0 sound great. Future DLC desires? A. More loot. In particular armor sets to be collected and very rare, but powerful weapons. I would prefer some of the latter without the big negatives that some of the existing ones have (negative 100% experience being an example of a big negative). It would be great if the loot were generated randomly (" Fire sword of l
Leveling sovereign and champions Leveling regular units and being able to update their equipment Designing regular units Variety of monsters Finding unique items in loot Quests City building
WOM allowed bigger unit size increases which helped immersion vs the current very small unit size increase from new technologies. I also liked the dynasty system. So if you updated the visuals and kept the above two features I would certainly buy the "Director's Cut of WOM".
I think this move by Stardock is a good one. Some PC game companies are having very good results with games on tablets. Slitherine is one. For some games that they sell on the PC and the iPad they claim to sell 10x more on the latter platform. They also charge similar prices for the tablet version to what they charge for the PC version. i hope Stardock does some 4x games of the space or fantasy type for tablets. There are nowhere near enough goo
Derek, I do not think there using anything wrong with the loot pack. It adds items to the game and yes it does add humor but that should not be an issue - if someone does not like those items they should not use them. As you mention there is already humor in the game. It's your call, but in my opinion the loot pack is good and does not need changes. Thanks for listening.
I believe "pacing" changes other things in addition to the games turn limit. If that is the case then it would be better to have the games turn length as an option to set when you are beginning a game.
Sounds great. I'm ready to buy the loot pack! When will it be available?
1. Legendary Heroes 2 2. Multi-player is not an issue for me. 3. Please keep coming out with new DLC packs. The ones so far have added to the enjoyment of the base game. A loot pack sounds great!
Gotta love Steam superfans....... "If it does not work right obviously it's not Steam, It's the user".
I know about the pony but I missed the robot! On the main topic I agree, good response Derek.
Purchased direct from Stardock and looking forward to the new content. Keep the DLC coming and I will keep buying! Great game.
i only play sandbox mode. I'm not interested in pre-made scenarios for LH.
I agree that steam sometimes makes the updating process a mess but we are stuck with it for LH. This is the only game that is worth all the extra bureaucracy that steam brings.
sorry wrong location for post.
I am very glad to hear that sales of LH are good Congratulations! Very well deserved after all of the SD hard work to build a great game. If you plan on DLC and/or expansions please count me in - I will certainly purchase them.
Derek, A few thoughts based on laying .983 and the changlog above. While I like the game a lot recently some concerns have been growing about the direction the patches are taking us: 1. The current plan for balance seems to be to nerf everthing. Now that the better magic items are harder to find (and they really are in .983!) when the player finds one it should be really good. Having items that are very rare and nerfed may take a
It's been a long time since I have seen slow graphics performance in EFE. I think Stardock has done a great job of improving it already. Of course it will still be interesting to see the graphics improvements in tomorrow's patch.
Releasing the patch early tomorrow would be another good new feature.............
After Windows 8 comes out later in October there will be a number of new, more capable Windows tablets available. I am no expert, but I believe the idea is to be able to do a lot more of what a PC does on these new tablets. One interesting sidelight is the potential for game ports from PC to Windows tablets.
IMHO Beta 5 is overall a success. Some key positives: 1. The AI is much better in tactical combat. The battles are a lot closer now. 2. The visuals are improved. 3. The added set up screens for a new game give more choice and are a bit more logical in structcure than before. 4. The new random events are fun. 5. Flying units! Two things that need work: the fir
