Yeah, his pets are great, but theres no reason not to take bit as well as his pet skills.

Why not make it so you just flat out win if you control all the flags? That's basicly what it equates to if that ever happens any way.
I'd reverse the order of 4 and 2 in my list of importance, but to each thier own.

As some one who plays erebus almost exclusively, I can say a tower build Rook offers more oposition than any othe class in the game, so long as he buys the right gear. The trick to beating erebus as ANY class, is stacking armor. 90% of erebus' damage comes from physical means, so it's pritty easy to get 45%+ damage mitigation and he's effectively not hurting you at all. At that point just ignore him, don't even bother trying to kill him, just go for the objective and let your minions,
