All I can say is stick with it. there've been MUCH worse games upon release that given time and patches, were made into epic multiplayer experiences. Red Alert is a good example. Howeverm like you, me and my friends are still pretty much preoccupied with DotA, only playing DemiGod every now and then. Member of Team AddIcT
