@ mikedawwg
Fortunately, I came to the forums first, and what I found is the reason I'm not likely to become a customer in the future: angry (and apparently long-suffering) users, dismissive staff (occasionally bordering on hostile), and workarounds that seem to rely on unsupported betas obtained by installing outdated s

Tongue in cheek. Certain people want to take things too seriously so they seem to take any negativity straight to heart.
Internet, serious business for the forum goers at Stardock. Don't blow this out of proportion when it really isn't needed - I'm just voicing my concerns and feel it's wrong to have one tiny little notice that reads it, considering the amount of people that HAVE posted here saying "WTF IT DOENZT WERK?!" over the period of oh-so-many-months. Is it really THAT much to ask that a public release is made for JUST x64 to tide us over till whenever the illusive v2.0 is released
Half my argument is that ALL you have to say that it doesn't work on x64 systems is a measily 32bit notice in the system requirements. It's absolutely pathetic and it worries me that other people don't feel the same, considering the amount of people that post in this very forum complaining that they've bought the product, only to find that the feature is "coming soon" according to the program and "whenever we feel like it" acco
I for one just can´t get why you are having problem with x64. I run, WB,Object Dock Plus, CursorFX, Iconpackager, Dreamscene, Rainlendar and I have Not run into any problems with any of these programs. And I have downloaded it from Impulse. That´s why I think it is something else on your computers that cause this problems.
I don't have the problems, I'm one of the few that jumped through all the sa

Saleian, please see PM.
Piracy fair enough... but it's very rude of a company to just "hold back on 2.0" which is supposed to have full x64 support, when there's absolutely no warning on the product page advising new customers of such. When customers DO purchase it, they find they have to jump through 20 hoops just to get the bloody thing to work as "advertised". <p
You're not 'supposed' to as they're not for distribution apparently.
They work fine for me, but I AM using the Stacks docklet. If it opens Steam and no game, then I figure it's just not reading the applaunch number that ties the game to Steam.
Try the "older, more stable version" http://matias.securityconsultant.com.ar/StackDocklet-preview-1.0.0.98.zip
Open Impulse. wait for it to finish validating etc.. Click on the blue orb top left side, select "Show Pre-release versions".
Not Impulse, SDC. ;)
We have to wait for OD+ 2.0 for proper x64 support and while not explicitely stated, it'll be ready when it's ready. For now, you can download Stardock Central and install/login; (Top Tab) Tools > Settings > Make sure 'Show pre-release versions' is ticked; Uninstall your current version of OD+ otherwise it will conflict with the beta; (Side Bar) Misc > ObjectDock Plus and install
I'd love that feature myself, but I can't find it unfortunately!
That's pretty neat, I was just using WinCal of Windows Vista but I didn't like that it was just so large. C:\Program Files\Windows Calendar\WinCal.exe for anyone that does want to use it anyway.
If you uninstall OD+, then re-install it from Impulse, you should be able to have both the start menu and the sys tray in Vista x64. I am running Vista Ultimate x64 no problem.
I don't know how long ago you tried that, but it certainly doesn't work now. As I've mentioned, SDC is the only way to grab a working 'x64 features' copy.
^ That is unless you want to run the beta of OD+ from SDC, which its' start menu and system tray still works for me nicely, aside from the fact that in the system tray I can't right click all icons, it'll treat it as left click.
Well look in options - as long as the beta release checkbox is ticked then the version you see there will be the "latest" beta - the one that works with Vista x64.
You can't install any beta versions of OD+ through Impulse as they've been pulled. Only option is to install Stardock Central.
Only the beta that you can find on SDC. I'm using it and might crash occasionally when you try and change a few options, but I've changed my Favourites key on my Logitech keyboard to launch OD+. As for a proper update, best response you can get is " soon ".
Awesome, both the start menu and the system tray work now! I just have to find a way to make the icons not look ugly... I think a 16px second dock will do that only shows when hovering will do. :P
It WOULD be nice feature wise if you were able to select how much space you want to reserve - I wouldn't need Desktop Coral then.
That only hijacks the current start menu though, I'm sure SD want one that will stay exactly above the dock that you're pushing the button on that isn't tied to the current start menu. Having said that though, I am currently using my taskbar at two bars height so it appears a little bit above my current dock when I hit my shortcut start button on the dock.
^ Well I wouldn't say promised, but there was something mentioned about it. I too just use a single non tabbed dock to replace my taskbar, thinking I could get access to a systray beta function if I forked out my money. I don't hold it against them that they want to make sure everything is just right though.
but I get more comfort knowing that "We might be expecting around mid January" But if they said that, some folks would take that as a carving in stone, then if January came and went with no update, people would be complaining "You promised us January and you didn't deliver!" I'd rather know an update was in the works and that the dedicated crew wasn't going to release it until they felt they had the best product t
Hey I don't doubt that they'll deliver on expectations, but I get more comfort knowing that "We might be expecting around mid January" as opposed to "COMING SOON - Whenever the heck we feel like it". :)
You might not have a definite date, but *approximately* how long are we looking at would you say? It is kind of killing my purchase for me... :(
