I am playing a campaign mission and I have no survey ship. I thought they were de facto? Of course there a bunch of anomalies about and I have no way to investigate. Do I need to research the tech too? Thanks for any advice.

Greetings. It seems after an OS reinstall I am having all kinds of problems. Previous to my reinstall, I never had an iota of trouble. Very bug/issue free. It seems after a reinstall my spaceship graphics are wonky. On many of the ships there are what I can best describe as lines of color that extend from some of the spaceships.. This occurs in the game and in all the expansions - fully patched. My setup is as follows: 8800 GT, AMD 5600 x2, 2 gigs of RAM and the latest version of DX. Thanks for any help.

I am still learning the interface, and I cannot find this info in the manual or tutorial. So, how do I enable the battle window? I have only been in battle a few times, as I am still new the game and actually, I just learned of the battle window via an info popup as the game was loading. I, for the life of me, cannot figure out how to install modules on starbases. I assume that I need to posess certain technologies to install related modules. But, I have a message under my current starbases that states there is one module available. I guess it is either a standard, very low tech module of one that I have alread researched. I think most of my starbases have this message but when I select them I can't seem to figure out how to install them. The manual is very vague. &nb
