I bet it depends on context. Im still runing Windows 3.1 games on my Vista 64... and yes they were mostly games.. but still work perferctly. Excluding games I still have a handfull of apps Im still using running, and have never failed me. Others failed in terms of directx or similar (some would succeed with tricks of changes to files it used. Others woudl require hacks or replacement over time. My oldest favorite is classic Startrek (Jaworsk

Ive been using VistaStartmenu almost since i started using stardock... It does the job, though i would still prefer a complete replacement of the 'windows' start menu' still. As far as 64bit veruss 32bit.. On my 64bit quadcore vista64 system with 6gig, I have a huge amount of 32bit and older applications running and much of it with no customization at all... I even have some old windows 3.1 still... and even older stuff
Same here till the fix stuff. As it is, 3rd party nonstardock startmenu's can be used instead to give one the same capability. Stardock cant claim it cant be done, there are dozens of alternatives and I use one of them now as a startmenu alternative.
I didnt either., I used a year old datafile to fix it. No documentation of current solutions.. but it worked anyway. They need to put that fix into production.
For me I wont consider paying for object dock at all till I see the stuff working and that includes whatever I use for weather. So far, the free version is cool but some elements are not quite there.. and until they do it right my boss's company wont bother getting them to do a 'dell dock' like corporate version for them.... like stardock did for DELL. Shame, seems Stardock isnt wanting additional income. <
NOte on my above rant... I myself can run write and create a 64bit startmenu alternative and am about 60% complete while using alternatives so any talk that it cant be done is bogus. There are a lot of 32bit apps that work fine on 64bit ... (well written code usually can be).. As it is, yes the startmenu alternatives are missing some stuff I still want... but its ok for now. Reality is I might give up on stardock and look at either it
Lets hope they continue doing improvements. As it is, tehre are alternatives to the 'startmenu' and even the systray problems of objectdock. I decided to either dump objectdock or find alternatives for at least the above two Found vistatartmenu that gives me a very nice alternative and works..and im using the icon that objectdock had for startmenu. IM now lookign for systray alterantives to add aas a docklet Note Im vista 64 and would rather dump obj
well...im doing a workaround as I expected. Im using the objectdock icon.. to run 'vistastartmenu' which gives me some of that startbar like usage. and so far seems good enough. Ie; meaning that u dont ahve to wait on startdock to do the start btn yourself... Shame on stardock, they could easily get it done based on what this guy did... Btw my system is 64bit Vista home Premium. No problems except systray now. (so far).<
