Looking for vanilla players in Sins of a Solar Empire Stardock Forums

Title says it all. Looking for some people to play, im new so still learing the game but its more fun with actual players.

I played TFC in STA Gold when that was the top shelf of TFC gaming. I played a few live LANs and CEVO-p for TF2. Sadly it seems the Half Life mods have all but died and with the release of Global Offensive that should mark the end of it all together. RTS games i think is where the community is heading as far as competition goes. John

Crashing MODs - Mini Dump error in Sins of a Solar Empire Stardock Forums

Could someone please explain this?? Ive loaded a few mods and they work ok but there are some that will attempt to load and then crash to the desktop with a Mini Dump error referencing the Sins temp folder?? Thanks.

Is there a Voice MOD available?? in Sins of a Solar Empire Stardock Forums

So ive got some sound mods for engines and guns and what have you, but the one thing that for me takes away from the game is the really "out there" and lackluster voice editing of the different ships responses. Does anyone know of someplace where i could download a voice mod to change this?? Thanks

Nope, i live up in the great white north of Canada lol. Unfortunately i come from a long history of professional gaming in Counter Strike and Team Fortress. RTS games have always kind of been my way of unwinding however they seem to be entering a very good place in the competitive circles although rather slowly. I would love to try and do the same for Sins as it would definitely be a very entertaining game to watch pros battle in. Thus i have decided to try and learn the game for all that it

Right now im just playing the vanilla version of the game until i can figure it all out, then i might buy both expansions and go from there. Just seems like the type of game you have more fun playing against a bunch of friends then solo against the PC is all lol.

Ive had this game since it was released but for whatever reason never really touched it nor took the time to learn it. Kinda hoping there is a community still alive so i could maybe get into a couple games online with some vets and learn to play the game properly and to its max potential. Thanks, John

Ok so i did in fact download form the same link you posted Draak. When i look i the Game Stop launcher it says i currently have Sins of a Solar Empire version 1.193 I turned all graphics settings down to Medium from high and tried loading the mod again and it waited and waited then crashed. It did attempt to load because i saw the checksum number pop up and sit on the screen. Then a crash to desktop.

I dont have any expansions just the basic game installed and upgraded to the fullest through the gamestop downloader. As far as i know anyways its the newest updates for the game.

ok so i havent played Sins in a long long time, but recently decided i missed playing it. I heard this Distant Stars mod was of the best downloads. So i downloaded and installed, went in to the settings and turned them all down to High or better. When i click on load mod the game freezes and crashes. Could someone maybe tell me how to fix this problem?? Thanks, John
