I like the freedom of the main map, which helps me imagine that space is 3D. The idea, that I have to protect my space by guarding it's borders - in free space , in vast free space. The hexes disturb me. They demand from me to think in strategy and not in exploration and prevents me freeing my mind to go where no one has gone before. May be I can describe my behaviour in Civ V: I play without hexes to enjoy the wilderness, I switch to hexes when it gets complicated

Hi, I love GC2 - it is one of my favorite games, I can play it when I am in the mood for space game after a hard week at work. In main screen it looks "realistic" - I can zoom in, I can fight tough battles and I can grow and defend my empire. I miss star gates and jumps and I'd like a more modern interface. I have GC3 for a few weeks now and I am more than disappointed. In my opinion it looks childish. Even one of my sons (10y) says it looks l
