I am playing a game on a small map, against Hard Ai, unlocked teams and Pirates inactive. The Ai keeps posting a higher and higher bounty on me, even though the Pirates are inactive. The Pirates have a base on the map, but they dont move from it. I have also wiped out their fleet (their window appears shattered in the Undergroung/Pirates screen). So basically the Ai is wasting its resources on bounty, which will not be acted on. It seems to me like the Undegrou

Maybe Ironclad can put a Death Star in the Rxpansion Pack. You blow up a planet and make it an uncolonisable field of space junk.
Ironclad will be coming out with an Expansion Pack that will add a campaign among other things.
Or Ironclad could change the "Population" label for the planet and replace it with "Ground Defenses" or "Troop Garrison" or some such. No new programming, adding of features or soul searching. Just call it something else.
I don't see the reference files on the downloads page, just products for the pc desktop. Got a link for them?
Couldn't a subroutine load all the commands and other data into memory then play them backward? it seems like it would be pretty straightforward a task. Maybe a representative from the Sins team would comment on this?
I enjoy watching replays to learn more about Sins. Is there a way to rewind a replay as you watch it? I can pause or speed it up, but can I go backward in it? If not, it might be a good feature to add for the next update.
That was a good game, very interesting to watch (I haven't played online yet).
Never mind...I watched the first 15 minutes of the replay and got it.
What's a sova rush?
Okay...I just watched my last autoreplay and found that I didnt research much until after 35 minutes, at which point I got the Kodiak prototype (a powerful unit). Other than that I researched the Javelis and repair platforms. So...perhaps what I wrote is for like the first hour of play. Time passes faster when you're playing and you dont realize it. I'm sure people will agree. ;-)
I would build your free Cap ship first to clean out nearby planets of resisting fleets, then colonize them. Research the Kodiak heavy cruiser and build them. Build a couple fleets without more cap ships. Do research in the military tech tree. Then research the Pecheron light carrier and build. Then do the Hoshikos, though you may not be able to do all this in 15 minutes. I do tend also to build trade ports earlyish in the game. And of course remember to upgrade your planetar
Try turning the pirates off. (In the 1.04 patched version in Options)
Here is one strategy I tried recently: Build your free capital ship right away (after building the capital ship factory). Use your capital ship (battleship is good) to clear out enemies on nearby worlds. Have one or two colony ships follow your capital ship and colonize the new worlds. Make sure you upgrade each world so it doesnt take money from you each second. (Thats the icon that looks like a half globe map, then the triangular icon). Build meta
Yeah thats probably it. Thanks guys.
Sorry about this double post. I dont know how to delete posts.
I was playing a game with 3ais on a small map. Late in the game I had two novaliths and had spammed them awhile. But then it wouldnt shoot. I know it wont shoot t a player you have a peace treaty with. This was not the case. It didnt even show the cooling-down icon (with the slowly receding red bar), or the ready-to-shoot icon. It was just a circle with a red bar at the bottom of the screen. Any ideas why this happened?

Can the developers make a rule in the game where if you accidentally (or not) disconnect you get a loss ? Seems like that would solve a lot of the problem. I don't play Sins online yet, but I have played online games for years. Like the above poster said, this is a problem in many games. Of course if you disconnect from a bug in the program (as seems to be happening) you would get a loss and nobody would want that, but still everyone has the same problem over time so it should even out.
Get a porta-potty? :-]
A lot of years ago (15?) I played a 4x game on a computer bulletin board system (bbs). This was before the internet got popular. You dialed a phone number with your computer/modem and logged on and played games, posted messages etc, then logged off. Well the 4x game was Esterian Conquest, a bbs "door" program or game. I played one turn per day with about 11 other people, otherwise it was very similar to Sins and other 4x games; build colony ships, fleets with frigates, cruisers, battleshi
To make more happen faster in the game..... 1. Increase the speed for research, income, build ships etc, in the options menu (I believe you have to have the 1.04 patch for this to appear). 2.Pirates can be removed in the game designer screen as well as in the options menu in version 1.04. 3. Make sure you have unlocked teams as this will allow the Ai to give you missions (attack enemy ships, tech structures, etc) to fulfill for credits and better diplomatic relati
I would forward your first post here to: support@stardock.com . They can likely help you fix this. I have seen this issue on another post here or on gamefaqs.com. I just cant seem to locate it. You also might try googling "Sins of a Solar empire install error", or something. Btw, do you happen to have the demo version of Sins installed? Some players have found they have to uninstall the demo via the add/remove programs window thing, or they could not install the retail version
Okay, so maybe because I didn't upgrade the civic techs that increase population limits, the game stats showed i lost that potential planetary income. Hmmm. Something to try in the next game. Thanks. ;-)
Did you run the file Sins_Bonuspack_104_setup? It installs the update after you double-click it. If you look at the new game screen you will see it is in fact different (you can easily opt not to have pirates for instance).
