Okay, I uploaded a replay of a game where I played Advent with 4 Hard Ai, in version 1.04 of Sins. Teams locked (FFA though) with Pirates on. The link is: http://www.mediafire.com/?nhgigbyfdlg

I posted some replays on mediafire.com. The one titled 3HardAiv103 is me playing Advent, as I recall. Note...it will only play in the out-of-the-box version 1.03 of Sins. I may upload another replay of a current game that is almost done, in a little while. I'm also playing Advent now. Here's a link tothe first replay: http://www.mediafire.com/?y95ldwd153y

Roadkill...I played a few bbs door games each day, on a couple different local bbses. There was Esterian Conquest, then the Risk type game and chess. Tradewars was available (kind of 4x plus rpg) but I never got that into it. The good old days, when you actually got to meet some of the people you played online with. :)

There was something like a shining forcefield around each of my ships. Is there a counter to this? or a way to avoid it? I also have the Deliverance Engine, and it is supposed to buff my ships and debuff his. But it would not allow me to fire on the world we fought at. Maybe because the world was not colonized? It did have orbital structures around it though.

I just had a huge battle against a Vasari fleet. I had an Advent fleet. I had a bunch of about 40 heavy cruisers that at one point I could not make turn or move or fire on the enemy. They hung in space and got massacred (as did about 40% of all my ships). What hit my fleet? I looked in the manual to try to figure out what ships or weapons the Vasari used but couldnt firgure it out.

Thanks for the answers. I'm in a game against 4 hard Ai (locked teams) and I may use this to get an edge. Two of the Ai are gone but one of the two remaining is the 800 pound gorilla of the game; huge fleet and he's Advent like me.

I have played a couple games as the Advent, and I built the deliverance engine. I fired it at enemy worlds but nothing seemed to happen. I searched the forums but only got a few hints of its function here and there. It increases your culture at a planet, and it MAY cause the planet to eventually go neutral. It gives you ships more attack damage (?). If this is so do you have to fire at a planet where your ships are already fighting? How is the De

Okay, I made a video of part of the above game. It is of poor quality with no sound. I used the trial version of the GameCam program for like my third try, plus I have a plain vanilla video card at the moment. Anyway, the video shows my Advent fleet fighting the Pirates at one of their bases after I had won the game. My fleet was outnumbered by three to one, but I owned them in about two minutes because my motherships were autocasting Malice. I didnt even need my other cap ship to cast Cl

I posted another replay at http://www.mediafire.com/?y95ldwd153y Be advised this will only work on the version 1.03 Sins. My computer crashed and I had to reload everything, so I'm playing version 1.03 right now. This is a replay of a single player game against 3 hard ai. I play the Advent and the Ai I end up having to beat is Tec. Lots of action after about the 8:00 mark between our two huge fleets, though he kept running away. I also wiped out the pirate bases at the end, which sa

This is from the Sins website news section: Sins v1.05 Preview Tweaks, fixes and maps! By Yarlen Posted May 15, 2008 14:32:54 Next Tuesday we'll be releasing the v1.05 update for Sins of a Solar Empire that should address many of the multiplayer issues some players have reported. This is a minor patch, however; more substantial updates will arrive with version 1.1. v1.05 Changes: * Fixed bug deallocating particle pool memory. * Fixed c

You download a replay then put it in the appropriate replay folder (single or multi, auto record etc). Use windows explorer to open the folder. Here's info about the folder location: To place your downloaded replays put them in (for Windows XP) C:\Documents and Settings\"your user name"\localsettings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Record-Singleplayer (or multiplayer etc) I don't have Vista so I borrowed this from a post by sandstig:<br/

I added two more files, parts one and two of a game of Flashpoint (map) with two hard ais. I won the toaster roaster achievement. :-) Locked teams (no missions) and pirates inactive. http://www.mediafire.com/?mfzfg7jh4ji http://www.mediafire.com/?wtbv9gg7wym

I have uploaded a replay to the mediafire filehosting site. It's a replay of a single player game I had against 3 Ai, pirates on and teams unlocked, as I recall. Not sure about the team lock. Anyway the link is below. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?5jg151ycytt If you have a replay to share just post it below. I hope the mods dont mind having a replay sharing topic.

Handicaps have been used in bowling leagues successfully for a long time. They would work in Sins too, especially team play. One problem might be "sandbagging" though; players deliberately play poorly at the start of a league to get a high handicap.

I was in a stalemate game recently against a hard Ai. Our two huge fleets just stood at adjacent planets and neither of us had an advantage. I used the Novalith cannon (2 of them) to take out his planets, which hurt his economy. Meanwhile I kept improving my economy. I fought brief battles with our big fleets to wear his down, then replaced my lost ships. I also used the diplomacy upgrades to eventually cause revolts/sabotage/insurgencies on his worlds and slow his production of fleets/struc

Would it be possible to convert the replays made with version 1.03 of Sins to 1.04 so players with the patched version of Sins can view and learn from the many replays posted in threads throughout these forums? Would Ironclad create one for the fans? Or does someone want to try it? Otherwise I am thinking I will uninstall Sins and reinstall without patching. (I dont do multiplayer games...yet).

I am looking for more replays to download. Are there other sites to get replays from other than the Wincustomize site? I would also like to upload replays.

Yes it is Advent. But that wastes his credits on a huge scale over the course of a game. The bounty was up to over 13000 credits late in the game. Kind of odd that the research uselessly pays out a bounty.

I had a similar situation yesterday in a single player game against one Hard Ai. I was Tec, he was Advent. We both had huge fleets (used up max fleet capacity), at planets adjacent to each other. It seemed that neither of us could attack with any certainty of winning. So, I used some of the suggestions in this thread. I built two Novaliths and bombarded some of his planets. This did not seem to have much effect at first. I think he just recolonized them. Then I found the Insurgency upgrad
