Herodias -- Thanks for this info. It seems to describe exactly what's happening to me -- I am running version 1.96. I'm still not sure what to do to solve this, though. I've deleted all the upgraded ships that were showing the glitch. Then I tried to remake them and save them under a different name, so as not to overwrite the existing file. I've been having problems with the ship editor (playing Twilight of the Arnor). Playing as Terran alliance, some (not all) of the ships I've tried to Upgrade appear in game with all sorts of errors: components like wings or capsules in distorted sizes, and in places I never put them (!!).
