Ship editor bug??

I've been having problems with the ship editor (playing Twilight of the Arnor).

Playing as Terran alliance, some (not all) of the ships I've tried to Upgrade appear in game with all sorts of errors:  components like wings or capsules in distorted sizes, and in places I never put them (!!).  The thing is, when I look at the upgraded ship in the Shipyard view window, it appears to have saved correctly, just the way I designed it.  The graphics glitches with distorted & misplaced components are only present on the 'sprite' miniaturized versions that appear in-game.  It's kind of driving me crazy.

Anyone else experiencing similar problems?

My specs, just fyi:

- Intel CoreDuo 2.5 ghz, 4.0 gb ram

- NVidia GeForce 8600M GT

- Vista 64-bit

I think it could be related to a bug of mine I had in a previous version of ToA:

Crash due to ship-design

Carielf wrote that reply:

In version 1.96 which is now available, the game does not crash, but your ships may look a little funny since when it can't find the model file, it just starts sticking the ship components on the hull.
This problem can occur if you overwrite existing ship designs.
You may want to clear out your existing ship designs before starting a new game to prevent further problems.

Could be that, could be something else ;P

Herodias -- Thanks for this info. It seems to describe exactly what's happening to me -- I am running version 1.96.

I'm still not sure what to do to solve this, though. I've deleted all the upgraded ships that were showing the glitch. Then I tried to remake them and save them under a different name, so as not to overwrite the existing file. But the problem doesn't go away -- I still get the random components sticking all over my ship.

Should we just not use the Upgrade feature at all in ToA 1.96? That would be pretty disappointing. If you know of a work-around, I'd love to hear it!
